If I seem a little distracted....

Over the next week or so, it's because my father passed away suddenly Tuesday - he had a 4 inch long aneurism of the artery carrying blood from the heart towards the legs, just below the kidney. He was in the hospital being examined when it let loose (it was apparently leaking, causing him discomfort to that point), so they were able to operate, but they ran of of fresh blood and had to resort to frozen units, and they couldn't warm them quick enough. It ended up being the hypothermia from the cold blood lowering his core temp into the low 90s that got him, as the surgery itself was successful.

Perhaps it was a mercy that he didn't wake, as it ws likely that he'd have lost most use of his legs from the lack of oxygen during the hours it took to get him prepped and operate, and he pretty much lived on his feet (car salesman & avid fisherman). Being in a wheelchair would have been a living hell for him.

My Heart goes out to you basara,I know all too well exactly how you are feeling right now.My father just passed away last week(feb.9th) from injuries he suffered after being ran over by a truck on the 5th.He was wheelchair bound and he had just crossed a busy street and a drvier (not paying atention) Sped out of a 7-11 parking lot and ran over my father.Fortunately My father never knew what happened.He was unconcious when the paramedics got there and he never regained it since.He had suffered too much brain damge from the accident.

My thoughts and prayers go out to both of you. My father lost a rapid battle with cancer last June, so I know what you are going through. As silly as it may sound, I renamed my Outdoorsman, i.e. fisher etc, "Dad". I also renamed my master craftsman after my father so that when he creates stuff his name will be attached to aspects of this game as long as it lasts. Just two little tributes UO style.

I'm sorry to hear that for either of you.

I lost my Mom relatively recently but it was due to a lengthy illness and wasn't a surprise but it sucks no matter what.
My heart goes out to you both.

xanthril i think that's wonderful that you renamed some of your chars to allow your dad to live on in the game for you and for those that know you. wonderful idea.
