Do houses still collapse? If so, I remember you used to be able to check the health my clicking the sign, how can you check them now?

It's the same now. Just hover over the sign to see the status.

So it will say:

A house sign
Name:
Owner
Public/private
This house is IDOC?

Brilliant! Thanks kongomongo. Last question, will it always not give a house health status? As the few I've been looking at do no offer a 'Like new', 'Somewhat worn' etc.

Only shows the status when they start to decay.

Whilst the guide is correct in general, during my years of doing idocs I have found that the periods for each stage are pretty much similar, each stage going a certain length of time, EXCEPT that there is a random factor within them. On rare occasions ANY period may go an extra hour, doesn't happen often but it can. The final stage I have found to normally be around 6 hours and 55 mins, the period listed may have been correct once but it certainly is not currently. Good luck with future idocs, much better that decent (esp rare) items stay in the game rather than simply fall to the ground and decay.

I forgot to mention that the items listed as disappearing no longer do, these now redeed and can be picked up too.

Idocing is a profession in its own right...you will need to use a char trained just for it to compete on all facets.....get it sorted and you can make real good UO gold very quickly.....

Not as quick as EM Events but its probably second to doing that....

Condition: This Structure is in Danger of Collapsing

Name your house this and enjoy Good Fun! as you watch the idoc hunting cheaters in the game run in circles around your house because they heard a beep or some such. (You will see these idoc hunting cheaters run past (or around) your house regularly and of course also at actual idocs so you will learn their names).

If you are looking for idocs the old fashioned way, by reading house signs, be aware that houses that have been named Condition: This Structure is in Danger of Collapsing by house owners who like Good Fun! are NOT in danger of collapsing (usually).

Decaying houses show their condition in the last line of the house sign text.

Also you should know that OSI owned idocs tend to cycle through a couple decay cycles as they contained rental vendors and the system is giving them time to collect their items/gold.
