ideas?

not much detail to these, but they seem like a rough start for some okay ideas. thoughts?

1) vendor stats: you have a menu that tells you how many times (since your last visit) your vendor has been browsed and lists what items have sold with the date and time. OR a personal attendant that links to your vendors (all vendors associated with the character) and notifies you when a sale is made as well as keeps up with your "books"... like an accountant.

2) crafting: i propose they alter crafting. when you go to use a runic, you should be given a menu with sliding bars that control what mods you are looking for. when you slide one bar up, the others go down... and if i'm trying to get a bow that is balanced, i slide the balanced bar up a bit and my % chance for it to be balanced is increased, but my % chance for it to have mana leech or something is decreased. so, if i slide balanced almost all the way up, i'm lust about guaranteed to get balanced, but i'm also likely to get NOTHING but balanced...

3) why not just STOP vending charges? doesn't make any sense or serve any purpose.
i mean, if they just HAVE to charge a "tax" of some sort (no taxation without representation!), why not just charge a sales tax rather than a "stock tax"?
if an item is set at 1,000,000, when it sells, tax it at 5% or whatever...
i say end the tyranny of the daily vendor charges instead of making it MORE messed up than it already is!

4) dueling: to allow people an honorable way to fight duals, as has been suggested countless times over the years, there needs to be a dualing system set up. now, to not counter-act Fel action, it needs to cost money... like, each player has to pay 3k or something to the dual master and you don't die - you get to 1 HP and you lose (it doesn't let you get past 1 HP). your wins/losses are saved kinda like on TC.

I keep forgetting what I had stocked my vendor with - I go, see a new hole and think "it sold out! I'd better restock and up the price ... wait ... what was there?"

Let's see how embuing works out, its the next new system for property-fixing. However I do think the *act* of crafting needs more gameplay around it (right now, one spends all one's time gathering ingrediants, tools, skills and recipes, but the act of crafting itself has no gameplay, takes no time and thus, ultimately, has little value in the game's economy.

I like the idea of a flat sales tax, but you would need to make vendor inventories count against the storage of the house or else you just price everything for a million gp each and get free storage. (aside: I hope that in the SA client, vendor backpacks will be identicle in appearance to 2d - I miss "vendor art" and I have no idea what my vendors look like to most customers)

Are there player-run dueling clubs? If not, why not? If so, what formats have they found to be successful?

I think of the gold paid to the vendor as a tax not payment for selling the items.
