Greetings all,

A while back i was posting about my museum and i will be again soon:) however, i cant focus on one project for long with out needing a break. So, i have another now on the go:)

I purchased a while back, a really nice shop spot and no sooner did i have my hands on it than i placed my vendors and rented some out and thats the way it has stood for a while now.

So i have decided its time to put my stamp on the place.

I have come up with a idea i like but would love any comments on the design etc pls so i can make improvements and so on!

Before i post the pic i would like to point out one thing.

My shop also has an extensive rune library (currently 60ish books on display and another 30 to 40 being put together) so i would like the shop to focus on having this extensive library as i feel its a added advantage in drawing the customers into the shop!

Right..... Having said this heres the pics .......

This is the idea i came up with: -

Any comments or such thankfully recieved.

I love the split levels, On the half walls (sandstone coloured) i am either going to raise goza mats or do the stone counters that are on these boards somewhere to act as table tops in front of vendors.

Would love any ideas on how to make a feature of the rune library enterance on the bottom floor??!!?? any ideas on how to make a wall plaque or something simular - maybe using a book - saying rune library inside would be fantastic :)

Only one thing on this design is not up for change and thats the area in the following picture MUST STAY! As this is the size of the area the current rune library takes up! (see pic below)

(If anyone fancies taking up the challenge of playing with ideas to make a split level shop which could hold 50 vendors, feel free to use this image as your starting point hahahahaha) :)

All help and comments will be recieved with thanks :)

***EDIT****

Since originally posting i stumbled across a design on the forums which kinda inspired me in a slightly different direction ( i would give credit to the original designer except the post was posted by a "guest" user)

The second possible design i have crafted from the inspiration is pictured below: -

Can you please all tell me if you think design 1 (1st picture) or design 2 (last picture) is, in your opinion better for a shop / rune library!

I like the idea =) Just need windows and archways in there too - there's a wall style in the sandstone where the wall pieces actually look like mini-arches, they make great openings in the wall

Will look better once it's decorated too, flowers etc around

Thanks all for coments so far:)

I have updated the original post with a new design that i was inspired for :)

quick question though, is it possible to place vendors on gozamats?? i would like to place some on the large areas made from splitting the stairs up.

Still not sure f to go with design one or two? Both have advantages and disadvantages and i cant make mind up either way lol.

So maybe a vote - lol - please pick Design 1 or 2 as being the most suitable for the shop / library??????? Im really in need of help lol and apprieciate all comments recieved!

TY again

Number two looks better. The red and gold/yellow mix and look more pleasing on the eyes,

I like the second design very much, but I'm not sure I'd have chosen the same tile for the building roof. I'd probably have put some form of edging round that too.

I really like design 2 also, but I agree with the other poster, I would change the roof tiles. The rest of the design is elegant, but the roof just doesn't quite fit with that look.

I like both versions (but I´m biased, since you´re my guildie and I have a vendor at the shop ;))

However, if I´m gonna choose the 2nd is better, cause it looks more "alive" and it also makes it easier to separate the vendor and the library area = less confusion, more happy customers.

I also agree with the other posters about the roof. The tiles in the pic look a bit out of place.

Good luck! Am looking forward to seeing the finished house :)

Another thought, with that really nice lawn area, how about setting the vendors up like a kind of garden party, sitting at tables, standing chatting in groups? would that work?

Second design, but go easy on the windows and put a proper roof on the building :) love Heimi :p
