Not sure if anything like this was done in game but could it be possible to make hireable npcs like bards, mages, etc. fight in the template they are named as, i think mages do but perhaps make bards able to discord lower level monsters that its fighting. maybe give the npc skills that are a percentage lower than the owners. would be fun for newer players to have a npc that can actually help :p

Another good example of "little" things that could make this game so much better. If the NPCs would fight worth a crap, I would rather have 5 hirelings running with me than a ridiculously overpowered G-dragon.

The NPC wars alone would be fantastic...

That would be neat. A hired mage could automatically cure and heal you, to the best of his/her ability.

I had posted an idea along these lines a while ago on the old ideas den. It went one step further and made the suggestion that hired npcs be able to receive equipment through a paper doll interface. That might give a little boost to craftable items market since I probably wouldn't want to load an npc paladin up with my arties...

I've actually kept a pair of npc paladin's alive long enough to have their weapons break. They were pretty useless after that.

There is a lot of potential for the use of npcs, especially if combined with the existing pet system. Things such as bonded npcs who can be rez'd, training their skills, etc... It is as if the npc system is only half developed.

Hired NPCs need a bit of an upgrade. The ranger archer NPC has no armor, so is basically a one hit kill from most monsters and players.

like the paladins you can hire too, they should have some basic chiv. or fightin skills. just hope to see some love for them.
