IDEA for classic client

It's a little silly that you have to rely on a third party program i.e uoassist to play classic client, here's an easy way to get rid of it, Can we just have the Enhanced Client user interface and macro system in the classic client?

Thanks

The 12 year old coding structures just can't handle it without a total rewrite... Which is what the SA client is...

Tazar pretty much has it right. The Enhanced Client is what you're looking for and it's already here without having to wait.

The CC already has a macro system. So if Mervyn was referring to CC + UOassist then the EC won't cut it for him/her.

If the EC had a more advanced macro system then maby. eg. macro's for gumps for one.
being able to loop more than just 10 times. Conditions checking and variables would be nice even if it was just simple basics :)

They tell us that, but being that my day job is to add on to 20-30 year old, horribly written software I don't quite understand that line of thinking, and they can obviously add new macros such as "bandage self". The vast majority at the end of the list was only added in the past few years. I would think macros to drink the different potion types wouldnt be THAT hard to implement. Code doesn't exactly decay over 12 years, it's just as editable now as it was then...12 years isn't exactly a long time.

I believe the real answer though is, they simply don't want to, or don't think it would be worth it.

It isn't impossible, But it's a bit more than adding some more macros, To install a whole new interface to 2D sounds very hard! They should finish the EC client imo before potentially messing up another client.

Why would you want EC goodness in the old client?! Doesn't make much sense and wouldn't be possible for the devs anyway. Just play the EC and be happy :)

I play the EC and get nauseous. I've wished more than once that we could have the functionality of the EC with the nice clean graphics of the 2d.

Actually the EC's macro system is more advanced in most ways than UOA's. The only thing the EC macro system can't do that UOA can is interact with menus, but there are a number of things that the EC macro system can do that UOA's can't. A record feature in the EC's macro system would be nice though.

Conditions checking and variables would be nice even if it was just simple basics :)
"Conditions checking and variables"? You clearly aren't talking about UOA's macro system there, and the point of macros isn't to get the macros to play the game for you. ;)

Which is also why they only allow ten repetitions, but it's simple enough to repeat an action in a macro as many times as you like, and pretty simple to go into the xml file and copy and paste sections of macros you want to be repeated, as many times as you like.

Actually, the OP wasn't asking for upgraded graphics/zoom etc that the sprite based CC can't support.

He's asking for things that can already be done while using the CC, albeit via a 3rd party app.

As to the looping more than 10 times using UOA comment, it can't be done via UOA either :D

But you can record macros for gump selections, have an organizer agent plus a bunch of other stuff not in the EC yet.

Let's see what EC enhancements they have for us in the next publish.
