Something I'd like to see in UO is giving us the ability to create quest giving npcs where we can customize our own quests and place in our houses.
Interacting with these quest NPC would be similar to interacting to the current in-game quest givers.
But I'm thinking the mechanics to set up our npc once in place in our homes would work by using [drop down menus]..
For example.
- Slay [#] of [creatures] in this dungeon/location. (using drop down menu to select type of monster/creature/boss, items, resources, etc..)
- Bring me [#] of [items/resources/quest items]
- Tame and bring me [#] [creatures]
- etc..
Maybe have options to set up restrictions such as time limits or no recalling/fast travel while quest is active.
An option provide an introduction dialogue/story for the quest.
Option to provide reward(s) of what the hosts has and wants to give (first come first serve) and/or maybe a automated rewards with personalized message/name of host. (e.g. dyed cake with thank you note from host)
Reward(s) can't be removed by owner/host while in session e.g. akin to the mechanics of auction safes.
I think letting players being able to create quest giving npc in UO would,
- Provide interesting things to offer and explore within our houses beside vendors..
- This help with the depth, lore, sandbox, and role playing of the game..
- A convenient way to help organize and run player-run events.
- Provide another reason to explore other player's homes and re-explore the UO Worlds via questing.
