[idea] Anatomy + Cooking = Better cuts of meat

Just thinking about adding another question to "ask the devs". As I do enjoy the chef profession in UO,I was thinking about how it could be improved. I thought that it would be nice to be able to get more from our four-footed friends than simply "ribs".

This diagram below can show us all the cuts of meat that is available irl. When a cow is skinned and all we get are ribs? Look at whats "left behind"....what a waste.....

So my "ask the devs" question is. Can we improve what we get from what we skin to add to the chefs menu...please?

Animal lore maybe? But i like your idea :)
Hmmm lore...? Maybe...but I see animal lore as more of knowing what animals eat, where they hunt, where they sleep. Anatomy would allow us to know that "this is a shank" or "this is a sirloin" ect. ect.

I'd like everything a creature has to be obtainable from the corpse. If you use a knife on a corpse it should open a little window (Kind of like the plague beast lord mini game.) and you should have to slide your mouse over where you want to cut. Having higher skill could draw guideline dots in certain spots to help you get the best cuts. Or there could be a drop down menu on the side were you could select what you want and then it'd show you were to slice. But doing it out in the field would be sloppy so you'd have the option to pick up the entire corpse and drag it back to town for a chance at better cuts. And I don't just mean for cows I mean for every creature. Chop out their eyes. Chop off their hide/fur/scales. Chop off spider legs. Chop off snakes skin. Chop off everything. It would create a million items though. "A cow brain" "An ogre brain" "A human brain." etc. Heck add cannibalism for the evil role players (I DON'T CARE IF THE GAME IS RATED M or EVEN AO.). It'd also be nice to have bones for every creature in the game. So after you kill something it slowy decays and then there are bones and you can pick them up or they'll eventually decay. The bones could be used to grind into a powder, make weapons, make jewelry, make arrow heads, etc. This system would add so many more crafting and alchemy options. Like craftable snake skin boots. Spider legs + Frog eyes for a special brew. Blah. I know this is impossible. But it'd be awesome. Anything you want from the body you can have it. Unless your low skill and accidentally pop the eyeball. LOL. Hmm...maybe this would be a good idea for UO2. It'd go nice with the whole calorie system I would want them to add. Your character would be able to gain and lose weight depending on how much you eat. But I believe that is for another thread...

Anyway, YES! Love your idea! STOP WASTING FOOD! :p More options for cooks is good! :)
