ICQ Help please......

My ICQ whenever i try to connect just says standby and never actualy logs in. Ive tryed deleting it and redownloading a number of times with same results. in the past 4 weeks ive been able to log in 2 times for like 10 minutes. Ive heard i can download a older version but whenever i search for one i get broken links or pulled downloads that no longer work. Anyone have any advice?

I was able to log in using webicq but not regular icq. ive tried icq 7 and icq 7.2 now with same results. sitting on standby

Hey, thanks for that link M8, now that I actually keep up w/ all of my user/pass/ acct #'s, I can go update my email in there in case something goes bad

I realize I'm late here, but personally, I despise the official ICQ clients. I'd highly recommend you try one of the free multi-protocol clients out there, which have the added benefit of having no annoying advertising included. Two of my favourites are Trillian and Miranda, and Pidgin also has a Windows version. Miranda is my absolute favourite because there are so many plugins and mods available for it that just about anything it is possible to do with a chat client, you can do with Miranda - but it does take a little time and patience to set it up if you are fussy as I am.
