Everyone moved east of Skara. Has been some time ago....
Gilfane hasn't the presence that it's website claims it has either. The town Concept is going to the waysaide for the old timers, it seems. Barter town Lives! in my heart anyways...........
Whilst it is true that the Gilfane map is getting seriously out-of-date, Mr Gilfane-hater, there are nevertheless 35 houses within it which are owned by Gilfane members or allies. Of the public buildings shown on the map, four no longer exist and two have moved, but there are eight new ones open or under construction that need adding.
However, it is certainly true that the player-run town concept has mostly died a death here on Siege, but like most of the shard's ills, that can largely be attributed to the lack of population.

As I recall, the treehouse belongs to Ru (junior
) actually a TNT member. The jail belonged to Pitt, no idea if he still owns the acct.

Barter Town or what is left of it was/is north of Minoc by the stables and on up the coast.
Iantown was huge once full of player run homes all surrounding Grave Water Lake west of Umbra.
One of my last homes was near the *enchanted forest* near Iantown, where all the pixies hung out and visited me in my Miranda home, before I collapsed it and closed down my accts. in June/July of this year. I loved those silly pixies. lol
Used to be the Shire too, south of Yew moongate.
Used to be a Wintermoor too, full of homes once, in the last snowy field, way way out there from Luna.
And some vile vampires had homes by Homare etc. and Umbra too.
TNT held tons of homes in the sands thru that cave passage, from east Umbra.
Gilfane now is all those homes by Skara Brae as ya cross the bridge from town, homes to the coast north and south all Gilfane, GIL homes, for the most part.
Actually when I first came to Siege back in 2004, one of the huge tours of player run towns where to show folks where everyone had player run towns, which included a grand tour of all the player run towns I mentioned above and the massive DTA compounds too by Trinsic southish and UND homes, and a guy named Aeric Horn, was also trying to create KIN township west side of Minoc too, and I attended a scavenger hunt held there where I heard speechs of KSS back then and vile VMPs came a killin us all. I was hooked. etc. etc. We also had an ELF empire too, also in the west Umbra sands area back in the day, and shortly after I came over here from Chessie, some 35 others I knew from Ches. came here, and created the WAKA empire here on Siege.
Actually if memory serves some vile VMP killed some of us tourists at the end of the tour, and some folks got upset, cuz of that or the fact newbs touring shoulda been kept alive to enjoy the tour to get to know Siege, but for myself, I just laughed and said to me self..
I think I will join Siege, it's crazy, buncha strong willed hard core vets, differing opinioned folks arguing about *proper manners* regarding killing tourists, or not, thus I liked it.

The lands across the bridge from Scara (New Gilfane) are inhabited by members of the White Council for the most part and there are some public buildings, including a few new ones. The Gilfane Loothouse , though not a tavern per say, is the undisputed hub of the town and busy with people coming and going, meeting and trading, starting/finishing hunts or just hanging out chatting. The High Seas booster got many of us Gilfane residents out of the house and aboard ships. Then there is the Abyss and new dungeon makeovers. Too much to do and fewer players make it unlikely that many will be found at either player or npc towns hanging out.
There have probably nearly a hundred player run towns since Siege was launched. The cross roads, the orcs (multiple locations), the chaos area, KGB, outside of wrong (near the arena) soooo many. The biggest drop of the towns came with the Great House Drop a few years back...laBarter Town or what is left of it was/is north of Minoc by the stables and on up the coast.
