...when I get to play again more than an hour every few days.
Last 3 weeks, my mother has had some health issues, and of course I have to driver her when she can't.
Week 1: She gagged on a soft peppermint puff, and wasn't able to clear it it out of her throat for several hours. I ended up taking her to the emergency room, and her coughing fits, combined with her COPD, caused one of her heart enzymes to become elevated, to where the doctors mistakenly thought she'd had a heart attack. She ended up in the hospital for the rest of the week.
Week 2: She goes to her monthly checkup, and the doctor sends her to an optometrist, who sends her to an opthomologist, who then sends her to an eye clinic. 3 days of the week consumed by doctor visits, the latter two of which involve trips 100 miles each way (the first day was "only" 35 miles each way, counting the extra 2 stops).
This week: Monday, the checkup (100 miles each way again) finds that the treatment for the retinal tear found in week 2 worked, but in the process a bubble of the liquid in the eye got under the retina and had moved to the other side. Tuesday (today), surgery to fix the bubble (100 miles each way, again). Wednesday makes it a trifecta as we got to go back and have them check the results of the surgery. I pray they don't find something else to keep us coming up there...
.... Because next week she has another local appointment (20 miles each way), as well my having to go to the same university hospital complex 100 miles away, for an appointment at the dental college to follow up on the massive work I had done there over the last two years.
And, I'll be driving her around for the next 2 weeks anyway, because it's going to take that long for her to be able to go around without spending most her days keeping her head horizontal, and will take a month or more for her to get full sight back in the eye.
At least when I do get to play, I'll have some... Interesting... T-maps to do (I just did 3 level 6 maps within the streets and empty house plots of New Magincia, and got some more in or bordering Moonglow and other cities) - and a level 7 a screen or two south of the Fan Dancer Dojo (and, yes, I'll REALLY need help with that one)
