I was scammed.

Was buying Slayer Scrappers on Atl. Paid 300 mill for said scrappers. Transferred them to my home shard to give as a present. Went to remove engraving off of book. Poof! regular scrappers. When the realization dawned on me. It was too late. The guy had already packed up his Luna vendor and split. So learn from my expensive mistake, and don't buy these. Buy these without the engraving.

Please make sure to send all the details to EA so they can fix it. Someone being able to change the actual properties from one thing to another (Spider to Demon) is a huge concern for many I'm sure.

So just don't buy a Scrapper that's been engraved, make the owner remove the engraving first.

1) You paid waaaaay too much for what you thought was a Spider Scrappers....

2) You coudn't have worked that hard for your $$$ because honestly that HUGE line of #### didn't set off some warning bells? I mean come on... the text wrapping to the next line didn't occur to you? Easy come Easy go is what I was thinking reading your post.

3) Yeah it's a bug, Yea it Sux... I don't have much patience for people that were Scammed though & even less so when it's not even a clever scam.

This is actually not a new scam. I remember seeing something similar posted where oriental characters were used to fill the first line.
More experienced traders may well have looked at that long meaningless line of ### and smelled a rat, but not everyone has that experience. I'm sorry this has happened.

For 3 Seperate books it becomes a lot more reasonable. It's just your situation that you happened to be doing a X-shard purchase & didn't do a simple test of any kind on them.

There is no protection from yourself... The primary reason you lost 300 Mill was a lack of knowledge / caution. I'd say it was inevitable something like this happened. This post serves it's purpose reguardless of me expressing my opinion on the matter. I've always had & probably always will have little tolerance for ummm well stupidity is the word I'd use. Yea someone went out of their way to take advantage of you & that IS very lame of them, but it shouldn't have been as easy as it apparently was..... Learning the hard was is best because it "sticks" longer. As a side note I would have 100% sympathy for you if those books didn't have the

Line right above slayer property. If that line wasn't there then there would be no REASONABLE method for you to know they were not actual slayers... Sadly it did have that line those which is actually GREAT for everyone else bc it's easy to know it's a scam.

Hindsight is 20/20 vision. Yes there are clues, when you know what to look for - the long line of meaningless symbols, and probably the 6 properties, however it's very easy to be wise after the event.
I commend King_Fisher for posting this warning in such a way that no Stratics rules were broken causing me to have to remove it.
I don't think anyone else needs to demonstrate their superiority by attacking him over his misfortune.

Those prices are way out of my range, but I would be pretty mad to see the few mils I have go down the drain due to a scam.

I've been scammed many times, so I know how it can suck.

I applaud the OP for sharing his experience and warning others. Even with forum anonymity, not many would bother or be brave enough to publicly admit that they were tricked.

Just a note though, Scrappers have 4 default properties and can get 3 more, so 6 properties on a Scrapper is quite believable.

And people really do buy the good slayers for around 100 mil (or even more depending what mobs are in the latest event arc). I love and carry several "Slayer" Scrappers, and I've been trying to make or buy cheaply priced Scrappers that has Slayer combo'd with certain stats for a long time now. Sometimes it's less frustrating to actually farm enough gold to buy the perfect one; rather than farming the materials, then risk crafting a bunch of Scrappers that don't have what you want...



Also, there were previous versions of this where instead of "#", a string of words are used to get the X Slayer to wrap to the next line. So be careful of these as well.

I think it's because you can steal the stuff needed to make them. I'm not sure if you can get everything but you can steal most of the items.

Your question has been answered, but I did indeed mean to say the ingredients needed to create a scrappers are found easier now, thus I believe more books will be made. It's still very hard to create a super slayer scrapper's let alone a slayer.

just use EC, with my UI the engrave text is in gold and you'll never be scammed

In Pinco's it shows up in gold - but what it also does is show up in inverted commas. Would this scam have not happened if the engraving had said "######
