I want to be able to enchant hats!

hats are so much cooler then leathercaps, but with the option on extra resist on the leathercap,after enchanting thats the pick for most

You know you can imbue hats? I have made many all 70s suits with hats imbued with LRC, MR and LMC

Yes I agree. I've reforged some awesome tricorne hat's and would love to be able to enhance them further.

Hats already have higher base resists than leather caps. For those that dont buy/use enhancing tools for highest end items, hats are very fine like they are.

NO they aren't.... hats ought to be able to be enhanced.

Leather caps are UGLY.

With all the new dyes they should change the tailoring reward cloth to be magical with properties that would allow enhancing of cloth.
