i congratulate people on winning something and achieving something, not for being in the right place at the right time... luck doesn't deserve congrats, on a side note Im still not happy about missing that event in ilsh on sunday night that i was looking forward to for the last 6 months, i dunno who got those event items from it but they sure are keeping them hidden

I know Zelda has tried to quietly email people to get this situation resolved. The only way that gets a response of any kind on this issue is to "throw a big fuss," to use your words.

This is not about items. This is about giving everyone a fair and equal chance. I think the whole having people chase some creature around Luna to collect its droppings is silly, but some people enjoy it I guess. Zelda does not need the items. She is taking a stand against the unfairness of how this situation was handled. Fairness and consistency is what it's about. Fairness and consistency is what it has always been about.

This is what I tried to explaine to Dudly today when he tracked me down, out in the middle of no where. ( i was out looking for idocs... and he found me.. so this much was damage contol on his part... however the chat didnt make much sense to be honest ) He felt they did nothing wrong... i expressed to him.. that ya he did.. and this is why.... but the important points were

A few points about this post:
1. So, the Dudley can find people out in the middle of nowhere if he chooses. That’s interesting.
2. I think all this comes down to the fact that Dudley and Vlad have a job that they do not understand. They are here to serve UO players. They should TRY to serve us all equally. There should be some effort to TRY!
3. There should be no room for personal grudges against players in the EM program.
4. I was in vent the night of the HoC meeting at the Luna fairgrounds when Zelda was made unable to type in UO. She was not being rude or hateful. She just asked questions. That is the truth.
5. My gargoyle character, Jack, won the Halloween Story Telling contest and was promised an award in the awards hall by Dudley. I would love to know where it is.
6. Is this thread going to be locked like last time? I hope not.

Fairness was this. I know for a fact that White Stag was in Luna more then ANY other shards White Stag. They were on in the morning, afternoon, evening and Late Night.

Consistency The White Stag dropped items every single time. It was constantly in Luna. The ONLY time they handed items was for the naughty switch, which ONLY reds were suppose to get.

The White Stag did however show up at the Chesapeake Community Holiday Tree Lighting which everyone was welcome to attend. The other time was during an invasion at the Tram Brit Gate.

Now I don't know about panoramix picture or where that was but, I am sure the items were dropped. And Vladimere is the one who mostly plays the White Stag. I can tell this by the way he types and acts. So how about we lay off of Dudley on the White Stag?

I do not believe favoritism is the cause here. I have received multiple complaints about the Goblins in Luna. Why do they have ice cream? Why do they have feet warmers? Why do the EMs always do things with them?

They setup a storyline with the EMs. They constantly show up when the EMs are around and do things. They make it fun for people at the Luna bank and interact with everyone, even someone who was their worst enemy at one time. And no I am not a Goblin. They try to bring a smile to everyones face who passes by at the Luna Bank. They also welcome people wanting to play Goblins.

I received multiple complains about the Savage Tribe having Red Savages spawned at their Savage hut. Why do they get there own spawn? Why are they being treated differently? They arent getting there own spawn. The Savages invited as many people online as they could to the event. They interacted with the White Stag trying to hunt it for the fur. They didn't even know or request for Red Savages to attack they just did. Instead of only inviting other savages and only Kijustsu Anei people they invited everyone. They are not treated any differently then anyone else. Unfortunately for them they do not hang out at the Luna bank. Its really not there RP Style. So sometimes they don't get as much interaction as others.

They didn't show up to your Icy Maze. Well they didn't show up to Two Shard Tavern Nights and a few other things I invited them to. They cannot show up to everything. Perhaps your day and time setup they were unable to come. Allot of people invite them to things they cannot always come. It was one event. Invite them to the SHE auction. Invite them to another event you are doing.

If you are talking about the shard wide meeting in Luna then yes they did ask you not to go off topic. The Shard Wide Meeting was to discuss Player Towns, banners and Teleporters. Those were the topics of discussion. Not what the EMs are doing wrong or any complaints you have.

Why don't we as a community work together to find a way to HELP! Here I have a great one. Five people (including myself) in this thread that have posted. I know they either run or belong to a Player run town or organization. In Kijustsu Anei Village we have a Rune Calendar dedicated to Weekly Player Run events. It has has the Rune for Sundays EM Hall Of Commons meeting at 9:00pm. Now we can also extend this and put a section for EM Announced Events. Each town can set one up if they want to promote things in the entire community.

Whenever someone hears about a Date and Time of an event and where to meet up, GO to that meeting location mark a rune and name it whatever event it is, the date and time it starts. Lock it down on your rune calendar and let the other communities know to do the same. The way I set ours up was on the steps so you didn't have to load the house. I will speak with Oda Nobunga who owns a Luna vendor mall and see if we can set one up there. Perhaps others who own Luna vendor malls will do the same or talk to people you know that own them.



I will tell you one thing that I am sick and tired to death of hearing. "We promote the entire community" When not ONE of the people who were at the Hall of Commons Meeting on Sunday posted ANYTHING for the upcoming EM events. I haven't received ONE icq reminder from anyone or seen ONE public forum post from ANYONE to let the entire community know there was an EM event. This has been doing on for MONTHS. I know that people in this community regularly attend EM events knowing EXACTLY when they are and where EXACTLY to go and don't tell ANYONE!! People go to that weekly meeting almost every SINGLE Sunday! So that is one thing I am sick and tired to death of seeing people not do. Stop TALKING about how community oriented you are and start informing the community!

Keeping them hidden because they aren't for sale on one of the stratics forums for 50 million or more? The hat is in the eastern meadow of PaxLair, the boat was shown off to everyone there by the person that got it.

You should work on your definition of "hidden".

The events that were mentioned at Sunday night's meeting were already stickied at the top of this forum.

Or rather...one was already over, which had been stickied. The only other for which date is known was also already stickied.

Yes you are correct it is sticky up there now. But I didn't announce that event until I knew that no one else was going. I didn't stick that until Monday Night a little before Midnight I wasn't going to sticky it at all. Until I knew that the entire community wouldn't know about it until I did.

Only a few times when I am not at the commons meeting or an event, have they been announced within the last few months. What I am saying is we need to bust open that door and have everyone to be responsible for helping and informing the entire community. Not just only a few people. The fishing tournament event Guardians Gate did not even know about until 30mins after it started. And that is one large community.

I think our problem is this.

People are not getting the information they need to go to the events or know how to go to them or know how to participate in them. Stratics and Uoforums cannot be the only place we post these things either. Not everyone reads here. I really, really, really do think that this Rune Calendar (Suggested by Lady Angelica) will help. Will have a contact list for everyone who has a Rune Calendar. Once we find out the Date, time and location of an event someone can go mark it. Lock it down on the rune calendar and direct everyone else to it. Also direct those with Rune calendars to mark it and add it to there own.

There is nothing sinster going on here. The EM's have the ability to find a character if they are online on the shard. I have been "stalked" many times by one of the EMs on Baja for various purposes such as asking about another person they wish to contact but they are not online, asking questions related to contestant entries or asking for player help organizing and advertising an EM Event.

To opine on a few things:

The rune calendar seems to be a good idea, I would support it and will try to help by posting runes also at the Red Wolf.

I can only speak for myself when I say (and yes I know this wasn't aimed at me personally nor am I in any way implying it was), I just dont really post events. Even when I was running them I was bad about posting them, ask Tancred heh.
In the case of these events of the past week, I saw that Gareth had posted several of them together a few weeks ago, and stickied it, and I really didnt think more about it. This wasn't at all to keep people from attending...I just figured he was on it and if people needed clarification they would ask.

I do agree that more notification needs to be given in Luna and perhaps other towns of events, but I dont agree that the EM's are not trying to be fair. Perhaps there could be an ongoing thread of specifics of what people would like to see happen, events they would like, items they would enjoy?

Sorry Clair. That comment was meant for everyone not directed at you. And I did write that in frustration but only because all of this can be fixed by simple communication.

I am Frustrated because Zelda is frustrated and I know if Zelda is frustrated then SHE is frustrated and I know if SHE is frustrated then others are as well.
I am frustrated because I know what the EMs do and I know how hard it is just to help run a village where I have four other leaders. I cant imagine trying to help lead an entire shard.

Zeldas Frustration, Yours, Mine and everyone else are all tied to the same problem. Communication and know where to go and how to do things. So I invite everyone to go to this Discussion thread and lets work on some really great ideas. Lissa has already said she would support a Rune Calendar and I will get everything together for her. So I will make a post responding the discussion thread about the rune Calendar and everything that is on it.

I dont think the Stag had a leash on it and was limited to Luna.

I managed to grab a few things at the Luna Bank when it made its way thru and was dropping items all over the place.

But if you want to point fingers around the room I did manage to see Zelda and a few of the SHE guild members bank sitting more then useuall and managed to grab quite a few of the rares that the stag was dropping.

A couple times while I was out hunting for leather in Tel Mar I saw the Stag and I saw the Stag a few times in Fell too.

I was lucky to have a red online and got a Naughty Switch.

I have seen more things happen the last 12 months that the EM's have been around then the last 12 years playing.

Instead of the players trying to tell the EM's how, when and where to have events just let them continue to learn.

The EM job has not been in game for the last 12 years and I can hardy imagine how hard it must be to them to continue everytime they come in game to a shard full of critics.

First they was not giving/dropping items and the complaints piled up (I sent in quite a few)

Then when they did start dropping items, within 15 minutes the items was being sold at the bank.

From my observation the ones that seem to do the most complaining are the ones wanting the rares to sale (If the shoe fits, Wear it well)

EA seems to be trying to make the game better by allowing us to have EM's and do event only to have the players crying they did not get something

From all the HoC meetings, Meeting the EM's in game and listening to everything they said, They are Paid EA Employees and I do honestly believe that dont get paid for all the hours we see them in game (Especially when they hang around chatting to players at the bank) that they are doing it cause they love the game, the players and want to make Chessy and the rest of the shards a fun and enjoyable game.

I dont think that the EM's are allowed to give something to everyone that shows up for an event. The events are to be fun and if you manage to find something special on a corpse then you was quite lucky.

I was attending the SHE auction when EM Vladimere appeared at one of their auctions one night they was Celebrating an Anniversary and he gave Zelda a Special Named Cake.

Hrmmmm..... Gee Zelda that makes me now wonder if you was treated SPECIAL.

I also saw EM Vladimere hand out Sash's to everyone at the SHE auction.

I also saw EM Vladimere a couple times at the KFC auction and after players (not mentioning any names) complained that he was (accused) showing favoritism has not returned to either of the auctions.

I take it EM Vladimere has no desire to be accused of favorites and no longer makes public appearances at the auctions. Thats a loss to the players as far as I am concerned.

BTW Zelda, Just for the record, You lost a loyal customer/friend as I no longer go to the SHE auction. And you will never know who my character was

I dont know who you are, cause it is easier to hide behind a name no one knows. In addtion, who needs a friend that says your feelings or ideas dont count!. I dont agree with alot of my friends ideas... that does not mean I am going to stop being their friend. Little kids act like that, not adults. Pan... dude.. I never said it was your fault.. The EM should have known better when there was only one person there, to keep going, and should have been in an area that GAVE EVERYONE that was on a chance at '7' rare items.

NO ONE saw me at any time sell or offer to sell any of the new items at the bank, or on my vendors, as any extras of the stag items I got, I GAVE AWAY To folks who didnt get that item.

Yeah.. Vlad showed up at both KFC/SHE auctions, he also showed up at other player run events... that was when he was new.. he does not do that much anymore.. Not a big deal... yes CRAFTED ITEMS were away to the GUESTS of the auctions. I did not ask Vlad to do this! NOT ONE TIME!!! Have I ever asked Vlad or Dudly for any items to give out, or for them to give out any items!

Yes, Vlad made a cake for us for our birthday party. I dont think of it as a rare item, special yes.. but not rare. Its not like I would or tried to turn around and sell it, cause other then our guild, its not worth anything. I didnt ask for it.. and that was all he did. No items were dropped for the guests or given to the guests at the birthday party. In fact Vlad only stayed for a very short time gave us the cake and left. So it was not like he stayed for the full event to support us, or to give anything to anyone for the event.

So bring on the next argument... cause Vlad or Dudley never did more for us then they did any other auction, or player run event. And we are not talking about player run events...

We are talking about EM events.... and how they deal with them.
