I need to know if this is a bug or exploit or what?

I'm hidden stealthing away from someone then they hit me with a meteor swarm?From what i'm reading i'm aware it's a area spell but i also saw it say target spell so how is he targeting me while i'm hidden?Any advice to stop this or advice what this is or how to deal with it will be appreciated.Thank you.

Meteor swarm is a target spell, but it is also an area spell. It also sends meteors towards all valid targets in the area targeted.

So let's say the caster targeted a creature right next to you. Meteors would strike that creature and you.

I'd suggest move as far away from the caster if you see them casting that spell as to hopefully get out of the range.

He casted earthquake then hit me then i was almost all the way across the screen and he hit me directly with a meteor swarm.Their was no animals around to target he hit me directly.

Ah, but what if there is no other creature to hit? I'd assume that possibly an Earthquake would cause a flag, then a Last Target or Attack Last macro may be able to allow a person to target you while hidden?

He casted earthquake then hit me then i was almost all the way across the screen and he hit me directly with a meteor swarm.Their was no animals around to target he hit me directly.

You don't need to target any creature or player for meteor swarm. You can target the ground. The only reason for the target on that spell is to tell the spell which direction you want to cast the meteors.

This issue was mentioned previously on uhall with many people stating that that's happened to them via last targeting, and a couple people saying that they were able to use last targeting, ect. In order to cast spells on stealthing players.

Well the meteor swarm hitting you isn't a bug or exploit.

If they have you on Tracking the ground where you are can be targetted by meteor storm. This is neither a bug nor an exploit.

I am going with none of the above, not a bug, not an exploit. Think about it like this:

You are cowering behind a garbage can, a meteor shower hits the area. Is the fact that I cannot see you going to protect you from a meteor shower? No.

So no. Not an exploit or bug.

Now, if you were say, off screen, and in a house, you might have a point or two.

I've had monsters ebolting me when I was clearly invisible. By that, I mean not only was I invisible, but I had stealthed some distance away, and some time had passed. I could understand an explosion of course, but after all these years we can tell an ebolt when we get hit by one.

I think the last target thing is a bug/exploit.

I think the instant you go into stealth it should clear you as a viable target... until of course your hit by something like earthquake... a conflag pot... a spell of reveal or something like that... but simply using last target in cheap...

I've also seen where in KR you can use this last target to toss those pies at people who are stealthed... So that should tell the DEV team that something IS wrong with the targeting system!

No, you can do that with the Legacy client as well.

Um wrong you can indeed target the ground next to them or yourself. To prove this just take anymage outa town cast a metor swarm and target the GROUND next to anything near by. Notice it get PWNED

Yup.
Damaged you with earthquake, which revealed you and he grabbed your bar.
It stays up even tho you re-hid and started stealthing away.
He used the "known" bug, which is his target last macro to hit you hidden.
Its been "reported" and grouched about many times on here, and evidently they dont care.....imagine that if you can.
Perhaps it may be addressed when SA hits, or just maybe its an "intended feature".
Since the dev team stays mum on the issue, your guess is as good as anyones!!

just went to triny on 2d client cast metor swarm targeted next to a dog not the dog itself. Result dead dog test it you will see

you can also use target self. Im not saying that he didnt get hit by a bug but if you were gonna use a direct target spell on a stealther why would you ever choice metor swarm against a single target?

You know, it helps if there is a valid target for a meteor to hit when you do target the ground. Obviously if you target the ground with no creatures whatsoever around for the meteor to hit nothing will happen.

Not sure where you have been but you can ALWAYS target the ground with meteor swarm and have it hit the targets around that area.
