I went out to buy some ingots to fill bods and could barely find any to buy.

they are not gone,

they are just not as stupidly obvious as before. Now they are just selling in blocks of 500 to 1000 commodity deeds and jacking up the price. Also they are not stocking 125 deeds at one time.

Oh, do come visit me some evening, one lives very close..........

it isn't a 24 hour a day script miner tho, but very obvious it is a scripter.... unattended as a rule........

Yuo, the script miners are definately not gone, the ones that are really gone are most of the non-scripting miners

I miss the days when people pvp'd on foot and people didn't have scripts to do their work for them.

I'm not against them killing the scriptmining industry. I just think killing pvp cheating was what they should have done first.

I know this post is meant to have some humor, but after reading the 'items must break' thread, it just seems ironic that now that script mining has been slowed, the market is low on ingots... maybe forcing more folks to create miners, and further decreasing the need for people to buy supplies from others...

...maybe it's just me, maybe i'm the only one seeing irony here... maybe it's just late and I should go to bed

Woot! Welcome back legit miners!

- Guess I may reassemble me gear and support me community a bit more now, if what you suggest is truly true, thru and through.
Give the legit some time to react & you will find your supply. Believe.

[/ QUOTE ]Not likely if the regular miners start selling, the the script miners will just release more to knock them out. The regular miners will never compete with the script miners even more so now.

Don't be so lazy, grap your shovel. Noone say you should be able to do bods non stop without some work to get your ingots, that be seaching out shops or mining yourself.

Is it possible to script filling bods? Do bod scripters run out of ingots and drain the marked?
If possible, Devs need to look at ingots using scripts and stop them too.

I mined for 2 hours a couple of days back and mined up about about 7500 iron ingots and a few other various ingots. Plus a few gems. Not that hard. Your index finger might get sore. Just watch out for black rock! That can be a pain!

I mine at odd hours in Fel and regularly overlap with three script miners who are there as faithfully as I am. As far as I can tell, these three are unattended. They always recall to exactly the same spots, night after night. When I go during more sociable hours, however, I do not see the same scripters, so it may be that they are trying to avoid scrutiny by mining really late at night now.

As you can tell, I do mine all my own ingots nowadays, partly because I enjoy mining (yes, I am strange....) and partly because I'd rather spend my gold on other things.

I reported a recall miner this morning. After about half hour of watching said miner dump his stash - recall - dump stash - recall ect... one last time dumping ore into his secure, he suddenly jumped three tiles away from the secure, still trying desperately to move that heavy ore from backpack to secure. After two minutes of this, he finally dissapeared. Effigy of a traitor?

As a legit miner and crafter, I am glad to see the scripters gone, but one thing irks me....

The changes to the BOD system, combined with the ore randomization, have made it impossible for me to mine enough dull copper to fill the DC BODs I already have in an orderly manner. Typically, by the time I get 1000 DC ingots mined, I've gotten another 500-1000 ingots worth of DC BODs of a type I'd normally fill.

Devs, please consider altering the Gargoyle Pickaxes to produce a "greater Dull Copper Elemental" that gives 25 DC ore, to fall in line with the rest of the ore elementals from the tool.... You don't get DC eles from them currently, and the existing DC eles in dungeons just don't pay out enough.

lol Uh....Macros are our friends. (my finger is sore)

My miner actually has three Last Object macros, precisely because my hands start to get sore from holding the position of any two-key macro (I use Ctrl+[KEY] typically) for that long. Since he never converses with anyone, I might just cut my losses and map his entire keyboard to Last Object! @_@

[/ QUOTE ]Yep. We got the randomization whammy, but we also got the Vendor kick in the pants. I normally buy my iron ingots from the NPC vendors, but their prices have been spiralling out of control since they made that change back in February to stop an exploit. They promised to implement a permanent fix for that, but in the meantime, ingots cost 55gp each in Luna, and at least 30 everywhere else.

If anyone needs ingots on Chesapeake, my blacksmith doesn't do BODs and I only craft in a few varieties for my other characters so I have some pretty massive surpluses. If you could hook me up with a blue beetle, I'd be willing to supply you every few days at a good price.

Sort of stinks not having a tamer ... gone are the days of people lining up ostards by West Britain Bank and new players clamoring for the colors of their choice! I haven't seen a tamer selling any sort of pet except for Cu Sidhes in ages.

Yeah I used to kill script miners with my stealther...sometimes you could get some good stuff off em...gems and such...I did kill an attended miner once on accident...when he started talking to me as a ghost I ressed him and gave him his stuff back...got nothing against the ones actually doing the work...

The only reason you'd be "seeing" that, is because they're now shattered about more since they can scriptmine anywhere.

It isn't more difficult on anyone, the price of gold is low and prices reflect that. It just means legitimate minors will get a decent price for their product until the new script mining operations get running again.

They don't benefit anyone, they only take away the product value from legitimate players. Gold is easy to obtain, uber armor is cheap along with artifacts. You can afford to pay a little more for ingots from those who enjoy the mind numbing skill of mining!

Africanus, Don't you have millon of ingots stock piled up from all the plot placing idocs? Seems i remember you telling me that. So I suppose you would love to see the prices rise.

Seems I remember someone telling me fairly recently here in UHall that IDOC'rs didn't get stockpiles of ingots that had been collected from falls....

Strange how this comes up now in complete contradiction to the previous statement.

Sounds like someone needs to keep better records of what they say...

I don't know about your forums, but most of the idoc-workers on my shard (at least for non-Fel IDOCs) go for the most medium-weight stuff first trip, and ignore the light & heavy stuff till last. I know because I managed last year to get 6 ethys and a LOT of 1-2 stone weight items of value from one I just blundered into, while everyone else was looting.

It was like they were looking for containers where 3 to 5 would put a beetle or packy to near 1600, ignoring stuff on the first trip that would leave them with lots of unused weight capacity at 125 items, or would not fit on a packy (over 1600 weight), unless it was potentially a container of BOD books (lots of items, less than that number of items in weight).

[/ QUOTE ]Well, their not supposed to anymore as they are burning the houses, but this was last year he claimed to have millions stock piled from idocs (this he told me in person). Also most IDOCs not from scripters houses have some ingots, some tens of thousands of ingots. Those the plot placers like Africanous get just about everytime.

By the way I haven't a clue who that someone was, because I never said it.

Another note connor do better research before trying to up your number of posts.
