Oh, please. Cal did his job like most producers have in years past by throwing out a letter then spending two days on the forums being chatty. He can now go back into lurk mode or ignoring us completely. I mean, that's how it has always been. rolleyes:

It's all a part of negotiations. They have people get laid off, if they show that they can do the same amount of work with less people then they have no chance of getting anyone back. If the community complains for lack of customer support and customer relations, then they have a chance of rehiring people and an even better chance of not losing even more people.

I agree... I miss FoF... but the new forum looks promising. I'm sure that next week.. now that Thanksgiving has passed.. we will see some of the questions being answered there. In essence... that forum is a better idea from the FoF because it will allow more questions to be answered. I know I have posted questions several times to FoF and never receive an answer. Maybe now... we'll see.

I'm just discussing how it has been handled in the past and that this, I'm sure is no different (imo, of course).

You can't get a thread locked by discussing such things. Calm down.

There's more than one way of working. There's the business like 'do it when it gets to the top of your 'to do' list'. When people are used to this approach they ask for things several days, or even weeks before they want them. EA is a business - yes?

Then there's the 'Petra' way: 'Do it now, because if you put it off you'll go and darn well forget to do it at all'.

Which is how you end up with the new forum up and ready to go within 24 hours instead of after the holidays. My bad.

you are assuming EAMythic just means the thanksgiving holiday and not the entire holiday season (ie christmas and new years)

From the forum:

1. This forum is intended for players to pose questions they would like to see answered by a member of Mythic's UO team. Although the title is 'Ask the Devs' the term 'Dev' is given a loose interpretation, covering questions that may require the input of designers, artists, engineers or developers.

2. Only questions to which Mythic have given answers will appear for viewing.

3. Questions that are judged to be answerable by a knowledgable player may be diverted to UO Players Corner, on the clear understanding that if the answer is not found there the question may be re-submitted.

4. The Mythic UO team will be answering the questions, (the ones they can) throughout the week.

5. This is not a discussion forum, questions may be additionally posted in the main UHall forum for the purpose of discussing them.

So when the devs answer the questions that's then will they be viewable. So hopefully the devs will start answering some soon.
