I Love Raptors

Okay, I have to say so far that my favorite new mob in the game is the raptor. They're sneaky, devious fellows. I like that they hide and hunt together... they have a very Jurassic Park feel to them, and I mean that in a good way.

Additionally, I wasn't sure I'd find a use for my Sleep spell, but wow... it's sure come in handy on them.

They're just the right level of creepy, cooperative, and stealthy! It's nice to face a mob that I have to think about how I'm going to go about it.

Raptors are definitely cool, I've also seen a LOT of AI advances made with this expansion. Ranged attackers will consistently stand off and plink away at you with arrows, magic, or firebreath if you don't engage them, pathfinding seems WAAAY better than it used to be, and the speed on quite a few monsters makes them a bit more of a challenge without them "speedhacking" (watching a couple of people in the Abyss running back and forth with 10+ fire ants in tow was funny... they move FAST). Also a lot of new little quirks and attacks to go along with everything.

My intention is to run an RP event in Ter Mur where a villain is leading raptors to Ter Mur to cause mayhem and chaos and the heroes must deal with the raptors and then hunt down the villain.

The first step will be luring the raptors over to the refugee camp. You should see the carnage they create.

Fire ants are awful! Is there any way to avoid the goo they throw up, or neutralize it somehow?

Fire ants aren't too bad as long as you're not running into the middle of groups of them... 1 or 2 are managable... after that... not so much.

I'm usually on foot with a greater dragon, wearing a half luck/half LRC/half resist suit (err...) so they're a big pain once they latch onto me. I was going off screen some of the time while my dragon did the work, but thats not good for monitoring their health.
