I think this is actually a great alternative for you, DPudding. Rather than bouncing in and out of the game, giving your stuff away and letting your house decay while blaming your gaming troubles on the game and how it doesn't work for you, do something positive to help yourself. Maybe getting involved MgKA or with people (not just anyone though, adults closer to your own age) whose gaming styles are closer to your level of game play which could lead to bonding relationships possibly similar to the way you play with your brother. Seems you keep coming back so there must be something that attracts you to being here.
Actually, MgKA may be something that would work for me. My problem is trying to find people who are on in the wee hours who are into just hanging out and doing "stuff" together even if its just working on skills and sending IM back and forth. I get off work anytime between 1 and 4 am. So I end up training skills or hunting ALONE. It doesn't bother me to play alone but there are times I wish I could log on and adventure with someone. I miss all the events except for occasional weekends or noontime events on Fridays, if I'm able to wake up by noon.
So anyway, if anyone is on anytime between 1 and 4 am and wants to do something, send me an IM via ICQ. Otherwise, I can be found taming or hunting or whatever I can do alone.

Only reason I came back was to see how all this stuff was going to end and get a look at the new client. I tried to entertain myself with doing the things I used to enjoy....but if I have to join a guild to be included in the most rudimentary things in the game...then what's the point? Anyway.... I didn't like the client....and the imbeciles in charge scheduled everything for when I had family staying with me...or I was working. I missed the thing I came back to see. UO won't live to see another expansion...so I'm done.

Alright, I am pretty sure they can't schedule something so everyone can participate, kinda impossible.
Not all of us got to all the events either but that is the way it goes sometime. As for the client, you can use the old client and still do everything in the new expansion. If you been in UO any time then you already know the old client and don't forget the new client is still in beta and changes are being made all the time. So the new expansion been out for 4 days and already you are tired of it?

We have so many that there is always something to do... and you arent forced to do anything... just join the guild that suits you...

We're missing two guilds in that directory... they were added last Sunday.
The next projects are:
- Community Despise Spawns where you keep what you get.
- Find the last 4 mysticism scrolls.
and like always... in true Grogish fashion our main goal is still the same...
- respectfully enjoy the game and have alot of fun with people we trust...

That is the first step... (dumb joke!)
When the next expansion comes out.... or not. I will find this thread. Also you don't have to be in a guild to be included into anything. I would like to tell you how you can find a group of friends and do your own thing. I would like to say UO is what we make it.... whether we like the changes or not. I would like to invite you into my guild, so you would hang out and give it a chance and perhaps find new things in UO you love to do. I would love to tell you all these things Del but you general pessimistic outlook will simply shoot down my suggestions. You will find and list many reasons why you shouldn't accept this offer while also using actual past experience (and made up ones) to justify why your decisions are are already made. You will list fact and fiction as a rebuttal to my offer and most likely attempt to influence others decisions on similar offers from myself or from my guild.
It is okay. I have read these boards for years and seen you come and go. I have loved reading many of your threads and hated others. You are a very smart person and most likely have much insight to offer to deserving individuals. It is a shame to see it wasted by way of a negative outlook towards the game (and some of the people within it) that you used to play and love. The more and more I read your words the more it seems you crave misery and thrive on conflict. This may not be true, it's just how I interpret it. You don't have to join my guild Del, for the record I am a GRI. You don't have to be in my guild or alliance to experience and enjoy any aspect of UO. I am of the opinion that your idea of the GRI alliance has been corrupted by the actions of few and the stories of others. I do hope however that you may someday find a guild that is suitable and acceptable to you. One where you may see that there is still a little bit of that "magic" left in UO. To find a such a guild would be great for anyone. Anyhow, I realize my effort is futile. I did figure however that I would go ahead and express myself... you know... for the record.
I will end with this. I truley hope that you find happiness wherever it is that you go and furthermore I hope you can enjoy UO again as you once did. And should you feel the need to attempt to prove me wrong, to show me that there is nothing that can be done, to turn my view of this game so that it may be like yours, then I invite you to do so. The offer stands.

I feel no real connection to UO. It's just something I did when I had some time and I was bored. I've always approached it that way. Same as when I got started on console games back in the 80's. When the game is done....you put it on the shelf. So yeah....I've always approached the game as single player. This shadowlord crap was what I viewed as "The End" boss. I wanted to kill it and put the game on the shelf.
