How about a temporary dye that could be applied TO OTHER PEOPLES PETS and a PERMANENT dye the pet owners can use on their own pets.

(and maybe the temporary dye is a fel only, flags the user type thing)

A "one week dye" is hardly worth the effort, unless they drop like Sosarian Sap.

I think that was the point of his post The bit about it being for other people's pets was meant to be sarcastic...least that's how I read it.

Yeah, she's right. This was a "knee jerk" reaction to reading the release about "only the pet owner can apply to their boded pet" and the it will only last a week :loser:
I mean, so what, it only lasts a week who TF cares who applies it, if it's only going to on my pet for a few hours of playing then wear off in the stables.

I am about as excited about this as I am about the Melisandra Molotov Cocktails as a weapon for spawns.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm better at speaking my meanings than they turn out in type.

My "jist" is, hey, how about permanent, or 6 months worth of coloring?

If it's only going to be a weeks worth, make the Sosarian Sap and a bundle of feathers for "tar and feathering" pets.

A forest green, black, gold, or Ruby Red dragon isn't going to effect game balance in PvM or PvP, so why so stingy with the duration?

but the deys work for all pets, so how will UO look after a while, pink, blue etc horses will be around, so llamas etc., do we really need that?

UO that looks like toys r us? maybe the dev could implement barbie and ken too?

or make a drogon dye, that would make more sense then purple horses

It is game time. The timer starts and ends when your character logs on and off - seems that stabling it will have no effect.

What I am REALLY against is the TAG saying : "dyed".

This is absolutely ridiculous for pets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll never apply whatever colour on any of my pets that would tag it "dyed pet"!!!

Apart from that, and if they really implement this, of course it must be permanent (only removable with the toxin-bleach, just in case you make a mistake).

And, it should be given as a pre-order reward for buying SA.

Have you even read the original thread? Pink is not even a choice for pet dyes. It is not as though it is a tub and people are picking their own colors. ALL of the colors except white - which we already have on things such as white wyrms and cu sidhes - are dark, muted, desaturated hues. Yes, purple is an option, but it isn't lurid or pastel My Little Pony or even Violet Courage. It's like a black grape. There are no pink and cutesy colors here.

My friend, I was typing a "snap reaction" to reading about the one week real world time duration.

I was trying to emphasize that the time duration was to short, and point out the silliness of emphasizing who could apply dye to further emphasize that.

I apologize about how it reads initially. It is easy for me to see how the original post can sound without the proper voice inflection - I should have added a "roll eyes" to assist the readers.

I would change the first post, except it would have a chain reflection on responses, and break continuety of the thread.
