I admit, I never go to TC so since I'm not helping I shouldn't be complaining, but I will anyways . I just claimed my 13th year reward after being denied yesterday, and my reaction is: why is it so tiny?!?!

All other ethy mounts are the same size as their wild counterparts. Horses, unicorns, hiryus, big ass swamp dragons, are all the same size. But the boura is like a mini-me boura. It's tiny in statuette form also so it makes for terrible deco. So, we get a huge-ass rocking horse that everyone can claim because they wanted to show more detail, but the 13th year vet reward statuette is so small you can't see any detail at all and you can completely cover it with a red grouper fish.

Oh, also, I just tried my retouching tool on it and it doesn't work. It's the only ethy mount that the tool doesn't work on !#@$%@. Before claiming the reward I was actually among the minority that was excited about this reward. Scratch me off the excited list and put me on the not happy side. Way to reward those 13th year vets.

I think it looks cool. What they should have done hwoever, is to have more than ONE 13 year vet reward. instead of complaining- try giving good ideas mayhaps? Naw, this is stratics, lets just whine a ****load

I think the mount itself looks pretty sweet, and doesn't take up too much room in the pack as a statue. The only thing I don't like about it is gotta wait 4 1/2 yrs to ride one.

They went with the smaller bouras out of respect for the male riders. I mean, unless you're Jean Claude Van Damme, doing the splits while trying to ride the bigger bouras would be mighty uncomfortable and just imagine you when you start getting bounced around when it gallops!

They best be fixing the retouching thing caus I think its ugly as hell so far.. *Sighs* I Was happy with the crazy bird finely being a mount i wanted that but I didn't want this and I'm not happy about it =(

And yes I'd have gotten one any way I had to I carry around all the ethys with me at all times just in case... and a retouching tool... and yes my box is mostly full of the beetle swampyand ridgeback... kinda annoying but oh well...

at least last year we got house teles too...

Pretty sure it's just an ethy, no hidden agenda. If you want to test it, you can get a free one at New Haven on Test Center, by docks. Sort of similar to the armored ethy horse ... the charger of the fallen. Looks armored, no benefit.

The best reward etheral has always been the simple horse. You can drop loot and click on it's nose or it's hoof to collect items or dismount. Sometimes, when buried in a stack of monsters or spawn, using the horse's nose or tail or hoof, (which ever part of the horse is showing), is a handy fast way to collect loot and/or cast invis on self if you can't find your own name label in the mess of labels.

Getting a white dye tub in the 13th anniversary gifts seems more appropriate for a Vet Reward. I think they did let the vets of this game down a bit this year.

Worse yet, is how many of the returning vets we encouraged to come back to UO, left again after discovering how things work in UO now.

The boura mount is regioned better than some of the other ethies, like the LBR ones (Unicorn/Beetle). You can drag a stack on it's body, not it's tail though ... but it seems like you drag a health bar from any part of the boura. So have to give the devs some credit. But the Z-axis on a boura is really low when compared to a horse. I'm going to try and compare what the Z-axis would be if a player was riding a "real" boura, and see how it compares ...

Here's what it would look like if you were mounted on a regular boura, using the z-axis of a horse. Anything higher than a horse would make it look messed up for a mounted player going through doors, and I suppose it could prevent a player from entering a two floor / roofed house.

Here's the z-axis difference from the ethy boura and the the height of an ethy horse. While it seems like it would be impossible for the game devs to make a regular boura rideable (the z-axis would be way too high), the ethy boura is still fairly low on the z-axis ... the boura could have been made larger. However, if made larger on the z-axis, perhaps the length would be a problem, when given a ratio increase.
