Okay, so on the second floor of a house I designed I created an "island" for the kitchen. The island was going to use goza mats raised up to create the stuff to hold on the island.

I accidentally clicked and placed the heritage token cauldron in the island area. Unfortunately, there's no way to axe the damn thing. There's no way to get inside the island....and because it's one of the add-on's that are required to be axed I can't even go into customize mode.

2 GM's have refused to help, saying it could just be axed (despite explaining in detail how it couldn't be axed because of location and walls blocking it, making it unreachable). The last time I tried to reach a GM I waited an hour and a half before I gave up (I was 8 in queue the whole time).

All of that being said, I've tried tricks to get up to that floor area from below, but what I tried didn't work. Does anyone have suggestions for how to bump yourself up or down in to the area?

Maybe goza stairs to climb up to the level of the counter-top to get close enough? This might work depending on the design of the floor above...

Did you try lowering the cauldron, and trying to axe it or, try raising it if its out of line of sight?

Did you try placing a ladder climbing up to the level the cauldron is then axing it?

I had a sort of similar issue and I used 2 gozas to make a stair step. I raised one 2 notches, stepped on it then raised the other 2 notches above the one I was standing on, stepped across etc. That allowed me to reach an otherwise un-reachable spot. Give it a whirl! :D

You might also want to try the Enhanced Client... Sometimes it reacts just a little different and you might get lucky with it.

I'd try setting two macros, one for last object and one for last target, then double clicking your axe and targetting the cauldron, then go to the floor above or below it and stand either directly above or below it and try chopping it that way. Or you can just double click the axe and try chopping the item tag. If that doesn't work I can come out and take a look if you like. =)

Tried, didn't work

Unable to raise or lower it and tried all sorts of ways to axe it.

Haven't tried a ladder yet. Decorating it for a friend, so if he can lend me a ladder, this might work.

Yeah it's not working, tried several directons for it too

Floor above prevents more than 2 stairs. tried :(

All I get any time I try to axe it after unsecuring it is the following message "That is not accessible".

So frustrating to make a small mistake then not be able to fix it you know?

if it's under construction, would it be much bother to resize the place and start again? a headache, I know

oh wait, you'd lose the deed then, right? so that's no good

in your page did you state simply that 'deeded item will not re-deed'? maybe that will get you a GM

or...... you could send a message to your shards EM, they can pop themselves anywhere, yes? would he be able to axe it if he was co-owned, or would he get that 'you didn't place that!' message?

Well I had a few hours to waste and time to do some deco while waiting...I'm still in queue....been #7 for an hour and a half now.

You know, I've had problems redeeding skeleton deeds before, but this is ridicuoulous.

I'm pretty sure if the EM was co-owned they wouldn't be able to axe it because they didn't place it.. :(

Well more than 2 hours in queue and I had to have gotten the worst GM ever "Do you mean this one?" the item locked down on the cabinent. To which I say no, explain again. He then moves it out, section by section, leaving it in 3 sections, the top part, the food and the fire pit...tells me to try axing it.

I tell him "Axing it will destroy it" "Try anyway" So duh...destroys it "Well that just means the decoration wasn't able to be redeeded.

.....

Oh well, the person I'm decorating for wasn't upset, but we're both shaking our head at the GM.

Post a picture maybe seeing what your dealing with maybe we can help think of better ideas to help you.

Did you have the owner log into each of their characters on that account? Maybe one of their characters is logged out in that area.

In some situations it becomes abundantly obvious that the GMs don't actually play UO.

Side note: if your char's skin color gets messed up say "Caucasian" not "white" when the GM asks what color your char was.

They can't, but an EM can go anywhere and they can grab any person and put them at their location. A GM should be able to do the same.

Possibly wording the help message like this would do the trick:

"I cannot customize my house because I have an item I need to redeed to allow customization, and it is in an inaccessible area. Could a GM please grab my character and move them to the correct spot in my house so I can redeed? Thanks."

Something like that might do the trick.

The way I worded it the second time was "I inadvertently placed a heritage token boiling cauldron that is now inaccessible and unable to be axed no matter what I try to do. As this is a deeded item required to be removed before recustomization, I can't recustomize to access the item. Please redeed or move me so I can redeed it."

Either way, he first mistook it as a Large Pewter Bowl I had locked down as the cauldron. I had to explain, in detail, that it wasn't. It was then five minutes later when he started moving the cauldron piece by piece.

I was shaking my head. Nothing I can do about that one.

Sad thing is, we know they can redeed items as they do it on vet rewards, like skeletons, that don't redeed properly.

I was a bit upset because he told me "We can't replace it, it obviously wasn't meant to be redeeded"

What? Really?

Yeah, we're gonna send it in for review.

And to answer Sarsmi, I was using his account. He has a dummy account which he owns thehouse to for me to decorate. I'm doing several houses for him, so this was the easiest way to do it.

I might have a spare heritage token on whatever shard this is on, if you want me to check it's np.

If Sarsmi doesn't have one there, I might have one and would be happy to see it put to good use. Just holler!

That really stinks.... depending on what shard that's on I might have some extra heritage tokens there.

That is ridiculous! If the GM is the one who actually DESTROYED the item irretrievably, they should have REPLACED the item! Don't they have the power to do that?

Thanks for the offers everyone. The owner of the house said he has plenty of them, so it's not an issue.

The issue was, the fact the GM caused it to be destroyed and blew it off as "Well the item just wasn't meant to be redeeded, sorrry for your loss."

Oh well, lesson learned. I'll post pictures of the house when I'm finished with it. I ended up removing the house built island and went with tables instead.
