I took my wife for a long weekend to Florida for her birthday. That was 2 weeks ago. And Harvey didn't even have a name then.
Just got back after 3 canceled flight, 1 flooded car, 4 rescued dogs because our pet sitter got stranded in her home, and our home being in a mandatory evacuation zone.
But you know what? All of our friends and family are safe, and even the dogs are fine. Stuff can be replaced.
I'm always amazed at Texans, instantly helping out. My favorite photo was a line of people - not for water or food or shelter, but they were lining up to *volunteer*. I love this state.
Just got back in tonight, patched up the fence and brought the dogs home. I'll play again soon, but not tonight. Tonight I'll be just happy to sleep in my own bed again.
