With all the love we crafters are greatful to see coming this next patch, I was wondering if I might make a small, humble, tangentially related request for your consideration:

Can you please give the BoD GUMP the ability to sort the items by item name?

I'd really like to see all the SBoD's I have for Viking Swords so I can fill the LBoD without killing my eyeballs looking for one possible BoD in a full book of other BoD's of the same material!

Hopefully it's not difficult to add some sorting ability to it. We have Quantity, Color, Exceptional/Not, why not by item? Even if it's by groups used to craft them (Bladed, Axes, Polearms, etc.), it'd be an improvement.

Yes, something desperately needs to be done about bods. I'm ok with the way we get the bods, and the bods themselves, but I have MANY filled bod books that are just a pain to search through. I have many LBODS that I havn't filled just because I don't want to have to search for all the darned small BODS.

Finally somebody came up with an idea which must be very easy to implement.

Create a book for all bods? bad idea?

[/ QUOTE ]Well BOD books already exist. What I think we need is some macro that can look through our books, create a list of what is there and what items can be made from them, and have a search ability which can find the BODS you request. I know this sounds like I'm being lazy, but to me it's just not fun to try to put this stuff together, and I think having fun is what this game is about. The more fun, the higher the paying subscribers.

I don't BoD run with several characters - Just my smith does it. So I have 3 books for BoD's thus far:

1 - Small, Iron BoD's.
2 - Small, Colored BoD's
3 - LBoD's.

Maybe only a hundred or two in the small BoD books, and less than 50 LBoD's. Even with this small number, I find it to be an incredible nuisance to find out weather or not I have that one small BoD to fill my large one.

I just thought it'd be easy to implement, but immensely helpful, especially to those with a large number of BoD's over many books. Three is all I need due to my volume. I can't imagine the headache if I needed more books.

I'd also like to see BOD books not take up anything but 1 item space like spellbooks do. Collections are growing to those of us who are very active BOD collectors, especially while waiting on the new changes, and the books keep getting more and more filled over the years even as we turn them in. It's gotten to the point where some of us have scores of vendors in our houses just to hold BOD books because they fill up houses so quickly.

I am also for new ways of sorting them. It's become very difficult to sort with so many of them out there. :\

It doesn't even have to be that specific.

Add a row for Smith BODs that has the selections:
All, Sword, Fencing, Axe, Macing, Polearm, Ringmail, Chainmail, Platemail, Other.
This line will ONLY appear, if "Smith" has been toggled.

Selection of one of these will show only the items that fit that LBOD (or lack of LBOD, in the case of "Other") If large or small not selected (as in the current gump), it will show both. (note that War Axe falls under "Macing", and Female Plate under "Other")

For example, Choosing "Macing" will display any of the Macing 6-part LBODs, and the following smalls, if present - Hammer Pick, Mace, Maul, War Axe, War Hammer, War Mace.

For the tailor, the list would be more complicated; the line requires "Tailor" to be toggled, PLUS either Cloth or one of the leathers.
If "Cloth" is toggled, a line appears for the nine Cloth LBODs, plus a second toggle for "show footwear". if "Show footwear" is marked, it will show the footwear smalls for the LBOD chosen, regardless of leather type. Otherwise, it will show only cloth smalls and the cloth LBOD, if present.
If a leather type is toggled, the choices will be "Footwear, Studded, Bone, Male, Female"

These added lines require much less work than doing it to show EVERY type of small BOD, while potentially adding only one or two lines to the current gump (if the gump resets to match, the way crafting gumps reset on a material change). It will also make putting together sets much easier, and allow someone to see (if they don't already know) what smalls go with what large.

Another option would be a space to type in a number, with a "Do it!" button. This space would be the "Price all Selected BODs" field. Once you got EXACTLY the BODs you want showing, go in, put in the price, and activate it. It would turn hundreds of repetitive strokes into a few dozen, and give the normal crafters the ability to mass price items that currently only those using illegal scripts have, allowing the normal crafter to more easily compete, legally, with the criminals, and giving the other legit crafters more legal options from which to buy BODs from others.
