Human to Elf Quest

I have completed almost the entire Human to Elf quest. I lack only the sap of sosaria. I have received the quest from Strongroot. I have found the spot; both per the map on the quest essay and by a local rune library's rune. I have visited this site approximately 20 times in three hours but have seen no Sap. I have used the circle of transparency. I am on the Great Lakes shard.

Any help?
