I read that the S in hhtps means that any information sent from your computer to the https computer is scrambled.
So S stands for whatever you type and send to an https site being Secure.
Sometimes an https site will have a red slash through the S in the address, I suppose that means it isn't secure.
Usually refreshing the page fixes that.
It is only needed when you need to send sensitive information over the net.
So https is needed for online banking or buying, but not needed to log into Stratics.
