Here is a quick way to browse all new posts on Stratics, regardless of which Forum topic it's in. (photos below)

1. On the Stratics.com homepage, on the left side of your screen you should see a bunch of sidebars. Scroll down until you see the one that says "New Posts."

2. Click on the header title "New Posts."

3. You'll be directed to something that looks like the following (might display slightly differently for you depending upon which Style you have set in your Preferences...I'm using the "Classic" style here.)

I wish I knew Smoot as I'm tired of getting notices about Articles.

If you respond to a post I believe the default preference setting is to begin watching it. Check your preferences settings and you can change the notices you receive under various conditions.

I haven't responded to Articles infact I haven't ever even read them really since the first one or two but I always have this blazon red box telling me how many are there unread by me at the top of my bar.... Which I find annoying and there is no way to get it to quit being there.

This doesn't stop new ones from showing up, but the easiest way to get the red box to go away is to click the button circled in red in the picture below. I use it all the time.

Yeah but when I click that then it takes me there... If I wanted to go there I would... I don't want to go there it's a pain in the arse to get back to UHall.

Is this on your phone, MalagAste?

Either way, I think this will fix it for you:
  1. Go to your user Preferences (via your name in the upper right corner)
  2. Under Options, deselect "Display unread article count above navigation tab

That'll probably fix it.

Well aren't you nice and helpful.

Sorry if I don't care to be doing a bunch of clicking. IMO the more I have to work at something the less I'm inclined to want to do it. I like many others have very little time to be spending roaming around the forums and such.... and the more time I dink around online the less time I spend in-game.... and the more I have to work to find the information to the questions I have and the harder it becomes to do things the less I'll be playing... and I'm not alone. The less I play the more I consider just quitting. And you know comments like yours aren't too endearing to sticking around. Attitudes like yours and so many others are part of the problem not the solution to getting more players and keeping them... but of course if you don't care about that then by all means continue.

In the meantime the more folk who do that the less folk playing the more likely we are to not having the game anymore.
