How to read the Veteran Rewards Gump ?

The Veteran Rewards Gump, when logging in UO reads :

Your current total of Rewards to choose X

You have already chosen Y

By reading the gump wording, I am not sure that I understand what it says....

The question is, is the overal total number of picks which the account, because of the active age, is entitled to, given by X + Y = Z of which X are still available to be picked and Y have already been picked,

OR

is X the overall total of Rewards which that given account is entitled to, as in regards to the pertaining active account age, and the number of actual still available picks would be given by X minus Y = W ??

For example, in the first case a 14 Years Veteran Reward account with 25 total picks in favour that had 10 picks chosen over the years would read

X = 15
Y = 10
Z = 25 (15+10)

In the second case, the same 14 Years Veteran Reward account with 25 total picks in favour that had 10 picks chosen over the years would read

X = 25
Y = 10
W = 15

So, which is the correct way to read the Veteran Rewards Gump ? The first or the second ?

Just checked ... gump up on pac, Atl, Drach, Oce ...

Well, I am not sure that "to choose" actually means "still left to be chosen" only....

It could ALSO be read, IMHO, as the "overall" number of picks "to choose", past AND present (i.e. already chosen and still left to choose, that is, as a grand total of picks that the account ever could choose given the active age...).

Mind you, most likely it is as you say, I am only saying that the wording "might" be confusing if indeed, as you say, "to choose" only means "still left to be picked" and has nothing at all to do with any overal grand total of picks that the account could ever choose.........

Someone might instead read it wrongly, as the overall number of picks the account ever had as good "to choose"........

The wording >should< be tweaked a bit but it's still pretty easy.

First number gives total amount of rewards your account has EVER had available.

IE

I have a 2 year old account, I already got my 1 year reward...

Gump will read as follows:

You have 2 rewards to choose
Rewards already chosen 1

I don't remember the exact wording as I am not eligible for mine yet since my account was inactive for so long.

But it's TOTAL ever
TOTAL Chosen

30-20 = 10

and IF popss HAD done the test suggested (choose/accept a VR)

First, the max number of picks for a 14 Year Veteran Reward active age can be 25 picks, not 30.

Second, I dissent that the very first line indicates the overall total of picks that the account was eligible.

But I agree, it is confusing and the reading "might" get someone in error.

I "think" that the first line indicates as Fayled Dhreams says, the number of picks "still" left available to pick. So, it does NOT indicate the grand total that the account was ever eligible to pick given the active age.

The second line is the obvious one, which is whatever number of picks was chosen already.

So, "my" understanding is that NOWHERE the gump indicates the overall number of picks that the account ever had as eligible to pick and one needs to calculate it manually adding the number indicated by the first line PLUS the number indicated by the second line.

THIS total is the overall number of picks that the account was ever eligible to pick in between already picked choices and picks still left to be chosen.

But as I said, I think the wording of the first line, particularly, might be confused and one might read it as the overall (total) number of picks that the account ever had as eligible, rather than the actual number of picks that are STILL open to be picked....

The first line does NOT indicate, as I see it, the overall total of picks the account EVER had to be chosen but it indicates, as I see it, the ACTUAL number of picks that the account can STILL pick.......

If anyone has a 14 Year active account they can verify this by logging onto Origin and opening up the gump.

We know by Veteran Rewards

Rewards
The amount of rewards an account gets goes like this:

When an Ultima Online account has been active for a total of 12 months you may pick a total of three choices from the 1st year rewards list.
When the account has been active for 24 months you receive an additional choice.
When the account has been active for 36 months you receive an additional choice.
When the account has been active for 48 months you receive an additional choice.
When the account has been active for 60 months you receive an additional choice.
When an account has been active for 72 months you will receive two vet reward choices (instead of the normal one choice per year), and another two for each additional 12 months in which the account remains active.

That the total max of picks EVER eligible to a 14 Year account is 25 (3 for the first year, 1 each for years 2nd to 5th and 2 each for each year from 6th to 14th).

So, a 14 Year Veteran Account should come up with a 25 number.

Now, read the number of your first line indicated in the Veteran Reward gump and ADD IT to the number indicated by the second line in that same gump.

Did you come up with a total of 25 ? Bingo.

This means that the number indicated by the first line is NOT the grand total of picks EVER eligible to be picked by your account but ONLY the number of picks STILL available to be chosen by your account........

That is why I am saying that the wording as it is "might be" confusing.......

Maybe popps just had a few too many when he tried to pick a vet reward, lol.

But yes popps, it is that simple. Your overall rewards are both columns combined. The amount you haven't chosen with the amount you have already chosen. It's been like that for a long long time. So if you have 2 rewards to pick and you have already picked 3, that means you have earned the overall number of 5 rewards.

NOT the actual number of picks STILL good to choose (as it actually is...).

This to me shows that the wording, at least of the first line of the gump, "might be" confusing to some.
