How to keep a door open

Hey, I saw a thread about this but didn't understand the directions. I need to know 1) if this is legal and 2) how you prop open a classic house door so you don't have to open a bunch of doors just to get inside your house. Thanks guys!

Where did u find that thread and have u got it 2 work yet ?
I always thought u just had to put a vendor at the door to keep the door open (never tryed it)

If your door opening is south-facing, place an east facing door in the opening, the door will always be open, and if you click it, it closes, "which as far as the game registers, you opened it"
