I know for a while it was broken and some people could join while others could not. I tried everything and was unable to join.
Do you know if they fixed it in the last patch? I have not log in with my theif since.

Ok first of all, Viper was correct...you do have to say "NpcName join"...such as "Johnathan join". And second of all, yes the NPC guild has been fixed for about a month or so now...but if you haven't been logged in on your thief odds are you might not be able to join. You must have 48 in-game hours on THAT char, and you have to be at least 60 steal (and yes you can use jewels and such to boost your steal over 60 to get in).

I'm not sure that the type in bold is true. I thought the requirement was 60 real stealing skill.
Can anyone validate this?

Uhhh yeah...i can validate this. That's the reason i wrote it in the first place lol. I wouldn't just make something like that up if i wasn't positive it was true. I've had many of the members of my thief guild use jewels to boost over 60 (odds are when this happens, they are making an old char into a new thief...allowing them to already be the 48 in-game hours on that char), and it lets them join. Even better, when they remove the jewels and drop below 60 again, they aren't booted from the guild, and remain in it.

The Lich Lord room in Covetous.
They wander. Keep an eye out. I just found on in Serps Hold Fel on Catskills.
Eh, just check the small towns like Skara Brae. Maybe try Moonglow. They are easy to find given that they will have yellow names and will say "Thief Guildmaster" after the name.

Actually, i've got to apologize. I'm positive it worked at one time, but i had a thief in my guild try again just recently, and it does not work anymore. You CANNOT use jewels or other items to boost your steal over 60 to join the thief NPC guild...my bad everyone.
