how to handle lichs in doom?

I am dieing with my tammer and greatie dragn 9 out 10 times in doom because the mf lich that the DF summon randomly... is there a good strategy to avoid being killed by it when your pet is busy chalenging the big boos?

Cut-up as many bones you can that the DF trows around. If a few people do that , then there is not much undead to worry about.

none of those 2 options are much possible to me because I use to go there with only a friend (he is a sampire), we solo it together... but the lich always take some lives

I usually keep looking after my greatie and also dispeling / healing my friend sampire... when im doing that and a lich comes he goes straight to me and kill me in like 5 seconds... even with almost 70 resists in all.... so I try to heal fast and then invisility but it doesnt work because I get insta revealed... soo it sucksssssssssss soooo muchhhhhhhhhhhh, I get killed that way in all my doom incursions...

he usually stays in a corner and our agreement is that he dont get out of there NEVER, cause always when he gets out of the corner the DF killing becomes very complicated... and the lich ALWAYS go on me just 2-3 seconds after been born... so it´s veryyy complicated... my most sucessfull strategy is to heal and then run, run like mad, but sometimes the damn lich get me, I have lag, I am from brazil...

If you have an undead slayer, and have at least 100 eval, you can kill a lich with 1 explosion flamestrike combo and kill a lich lord with 2.

if the lich lord spawn near me I don´t last even 3 seconds... I simple don´t understand how can they be so devastating...

Do you carry a mage weapon?

These 2 things could explain why your getting killed so quickly and easily. Lich Lords hit very quickly and cast as well. If you don't have a defensive skill or a mage weapon you'll be killed quickly. I had the same problem on my tamer. I started carrying a mage weapon and now it's much easier to stand near monsters. But with a mage weapon you don't get to use slayer spell books.

Also when I play my Tamer I have protection cast on me. (It lowers your physical resist but I cast reactive armor and it gives the physical points back) This allows me to stand next to a Lich Lord and not have my spells interupted.

yes I also use protection. I dont understand your point in a mage weapon, is it to kill the lich? actually I don't have any chance of killing the lich before it kills me, the situation is critical, he kills me so fast I don't want to fight them, I would like to know why they always target me, do they target the char with higher magery skills since they are the masters of shadow?? something like that?

Which kills him almost instantly or at least make him heal himself, which in turn make lich lord easy prey And if you are unsure about you capability to take him down you can just Rel Por away couple times untill he targets your dragon and then return and still finish him with magery.

hummm now that was something I can use, I didnt think about using teleport, if it does works then I will do just that. I forgot to mention that another problem I have is not the lich lord alone, but the fact that i'm usually doing stuff when it spawn, like healing my dragie or casting bolts in the df, so it's not that easy like if I was just waiting for him to appear to take some action, when it spawns Im usually not waiting for him and that's why i'm saying that I dont understand why he comes directly to me so angry at me, its like I was a golden globe shinning for the lich lord... the only explanation I can think about that is what I said related to the mage related skills (eval, mediation), my theory is that lich lords like to kill high skilled mages...

Try to use Rel Pors it's really a life savior for unmounted player. Of course if you have FC2. And u should bind a very convinient hotkey. I use Ctrl+S so it takes me 0.000001 sec to hit it =))))

What a mage weapon does is use your magery skill as your defensive skill. (Like Wrestling or a weapon skill) Every mage template should have a defensive skill. (mage weapon, wrestling, or weapon skill) Some friends of mine use Swords of Prosperity or Staff of the Magi for defense.

A lich will attack you with magic and physical blows as well, very quickly. (as you've seen) What the mage weapon or wrestling will do is allow you a chance of blocking those physical blows. You'll have a chance to live longer to cast your spells. Don't forget if you get attacked by a lich it's not a bad thing to heal yourself first. You can try going to Deceit and fighting liches for a while to get used to them.
