[Lumberjacking] How to get colored woods?

Its been a looooong time since I break out my GM lumberjack. I heard in the last coupla years, the emergence of colored woods no longer ties down with any particular trees.

As such, can you guys share how to get the colored woods nowadays? Do I chop chop chop till dry every tree I come across? I understand whenever a tree has been chopped dry, it has a chance of spawning a different wood; I could be wrong though...

Also, look into getting some of the 7-year-old account vet reward tree stumps that you put in your house. They spawn 10 logs a day of a random type (fill up at 100 logs, combined, of all types). when you claim the logs, each wood is an equal chance of spawning, so I actually have had times where there were no normal logs out of the 100 I removed from a stump. last night I pulled 200 total out of 2 stumps, and got 60 Frostwood, 30 normal, and 10, 20 or 30 or each other type (adding up to 110).

Yeah I have had my 2 tree stumps for a year now and over 1k of all types of logs without doing much logging. I know that wouldn't last long for you multiple account types but for me it removes the worry of having to find special wood.

Do the tree stumps only work on accounts > 7 years old?

As someone who started in 2009, I really, really hate these account age restrictions

You would need a 7yr account to place the tree stump but if then tree stump is set to friends any yr char can then access to get the wood from it. So yes if u get the deed and get a co-owner with a 7yr account to place you could get around age restriction but good luck finding a 7yr account that doesnt already have a house that you would be willing to make a co-owner

UO Relic: where did you get the idea that someone can't have a house, in order to be a co-owner of someone else's house?

Co-owning a house has no bearing on normal house ownership.

An Example for Red Star, since she knows all involved.

I bought my first stump when the oldest of my 3 accounts was still 4 months short of 7 years. I temporarily co-owned Arwen Rivenmyst to my second account's house (7 months shy of 7 years at the time), had her place it, and was able to use it the next day. Since then, both my older accounts have hit 7 years.

I would suggest making a runebook or books with trees you want to chop and chop all the trees in the books. I do this so I know exactly what tree I have chopped and when it changes wood type I dont lose that tree
