Just wondering how many fellow Paladins are using the Virtue Armor Set?

Yes, I know its not the idea suit for PvM or PvP.

Not me. Because of the lack of properties other than Self Repair, Blessed and all 70's, it looks more like a PvP Dueler's suit than anything else.

Why would a dueler want to use a suit with all 70s resist and self repair 5? When i can have a suit with all 70s, 100 lrc, 40 lmc, mana increase ect ect.

[/ QUOTE ]What I was thinking was if two dexxors wanted to truly test their skills, weapons, and templates, they could put on identical Virtue Armor sets and duel. They'd see who was better when their are no suit bonuses applied. Also, when someone died, there'd be no insurance cost since everything is blessed, and no damage to the suits since they have max Self Repair.

Of course this wouldn't work for mages since these suits are non-medible and and they'd lose their regs when they die since these suits also don't have LRC 100%.

it works well for casual adventuring or riskier fel excursions. use the blessed jewelry and weaponry/shield from new haven, and you are essentially risk free anywhere you go.

I'm using it for pvm. I dont get on much so I cant afford a decent armor set. So I use it like a poor man's all 70 suit. Tried it out with OL and it's not bad....but definitely your performance is greatly affected without those mods. My other suit is not all 70, but it has some decent mods and 70 in Phys resist and it actually works much better than the Virtue armor against OL. However, repairing the suit is a major pain since it only has like 40 durability average on the pieces.

Only thing good with the Virtue armor really is that you dont have to repair it; and for us poorer folk who cant afford the powder, it's a little useful. Now if you can enhance it somehow....? Ok wishfull thinking there. hehehe

you hit upon a good idea for dueling.

put on just the virtue set, no jewelry and npc bought weapons/ sheilds and have at it.

could have a tourney set up with say 50k gold buy in.

something like that

I actually use the set on my pure bard/alchemist (odd idea of mine). Works great since the character doesn't need any mods (in fact only str boost or hpr would even affect the character) and I don't worry about insurance (other than jewels) now

Plus the shiny look goes good with an attention loving bard, hehehe.

Haven't worn anything else since I got a the full set. I don't PvP but suit is working just fine for me and PvM. I don't really care much about mana regen, only really use enemy of one and divine fury. Sure some hpr would be nice but with 100 healing I get by just fine. Soul seeker is the weapon of choice with this suit I can leech back most of the mana I lose. I change my jewels around depending on what I am fighting. I feel the saving in repairs and insurance are worth it. I am proud to represent the virtues and be a fighter for truth and justice. Why just the other night a red in Fel was so shocked I was wearing it he let me go...

sit on my fire steed with my Virtue set at the bank, with katarina's crock.... crook equipped. They have so much in common.

*sorry, could not resist*

I am torn really. As pointed out above, with the blessed stuff from newbie quests and this set, you can go anywhere without fear of losing anything. That IS a good side. But how many newbies can hunt long enough to actually get a set? last I checked, a full set was well over 2 mill for all pcs. Kind of a catch 22, only newbies really get a benefit from it (an RP'ers, not to take anything away from them), but newbies have a cold chance in hades of ever getting a full set to drop.

Hey, maybe it's a sign of the future, and soon all the attributes except resists will go away?

I must admit some confusion about the whole "can't use powder" thing.... feature.
It appears the intent is to keep the "rares" rare, by letting them wear down. Unless it has self repair. Wait.... Out of 15 new "artifacts", 10 have self repair or are not breakable. Errmmmmmm

First problem is, don't they have to be USED to wear down at all?
And in order for a player to USE them, should they not be perceived as USEFUL by the player?
So, we have 5 semi-useless (usefulness to be determined by the user) items that can't have powder applied. *shrugs*.

Now (anti-flame) I am NOT asking for them to be uber. NOR am I asking for anything specifically. I DO wish the Dev's were more in touch with the game though. Seeing as how they made it what it is through their choices (past and present teams included).

For example, I can MAKE a crook better than Katarina's.
'Nother, those shields. Love the idea of a balance between good properties and limitations, but sheesh. A shield that drops off almost everyone when they get cursed?

I've been using it for casual adventuring, although, I've yet to use it in a real heavy spawn situation.I've never really put too much effort into building an uber suit of armor. I've always just wanted decent resists across the board, as for anything else, I really couldn't care less. So the virtue armor is pretty good for me, All 70's and blessed too? Works for me!

I just started a new character specifically around the idea of that suit...a Paladin of course.

Will post more once I have it done and tested
