How many bods do you do is it based on what skill level tailoring and smith you have and is it certain amount of bods or is it random?

With bribing BoDs now, it is really easy to get smithy hammers up to bronze, because these can be gotten using small bods that you get with a 0.1 smith then bribe up to the hammer you want. Given that these hammers are the most common, this is pretty useful.

Getting runic sewing kits is a bit tougher, because you have to use LBoDs, and you still get a LBoD only ~1% of the time. Again though, with bribery a lot more of these can be turned into what you need it to be.

So, it's not really a question of a raw number for smithy bods to get the lesser hammers - just bribe. You do need the proper amount of smithing to work with those ingots though. With tailoring, yeah, you'll need to slog through it a bit.

whats the fair price for val runic hammers and barbed and horned runic sewing kits?

Val hammers I do not see selling very often, as they're very hard to control getting what you want. Shadow and Copper hammers sell very easily on most every shard I believe. Given that there's 2000 valorite ingots used to make a val hammer, the selling price has got to be at least 4 or 5M to be even remotely worth it.

Barbed Kits are pretty normal at 3M on most shards I think.

Bribery the prices change depending on how high up the color/size/exceptional scale the deed is.
Bribing from 20 normal cloth to 20 normal spined is maybe a few hundred gold at most, sometimes even 0.
Bribing from 15 barbed exceptional to 20 barbed exceptional will be 30k or so.
Bribing from 15 barbed exceptional to 20 barbed exceptional LBOD will be 100K+.
Remember you can shop around. Prices go up as more bribing happens, so if you bribe a deed up today at NPC X, then come back tomorrow and bribe the same deed up again, it'll cost you maybe 5% or 10% more on the 2nd day.

To complete the LBOD you need to create items that use up 2000 valorite ingots. 20 of plate item needs to be made... so 20 pieces needed X 25 val ingots each(Tunic) = 500 Ingots used assuming they are all made exceptionally. More ingots used if you have to recraft the pieces.

Using some combination of smithy skill, talisman, and ancient hammers, it's fairly easy to get 100% exceptional chance on plate tunics.
