How long does a confusion/greater confusion pot last?

The Stratics page on this says it causes all monsters in an area to stop fighting for a moment. Are we talking a second or two or a longer period of time?

My impression is it lasts a couple seconds and then if you are still in the area they will retarget you. Not sure exactly.

To my experience, they cause all monsters in the area to lose you as a target. They will then retarget you as if you had just entered the area. So, this potion does not really last, it is a one-time effect.
