How EM event items should be handled

I feel confident that 99% of the EM's are doing what they do because of the passion they have for UO. However there is that 1%. Maybe it is someone planning on leaving--or someone that only joined for the wrong reasons--or someone just upset. They can do so much damage.

They can give out special rewards to a friend of thiers at every event. We have seen these items sell for hundreds of millions in gold. And we all know what happens to gold after the sale. This is called corruption. It is bad for UO plain and simple.

I agree with many others that there should be special items from events, BUT they should be account bound. No trading no dropping for someone to pick up. Once another account touches the item--the item is destroyed.

You still get the competition to have the only one of a few of something--but you also remove a big factor in corruption--GREED.

In the past we have seen Seers, IGM's, GM's and EM's that were corrupt. Remember the GM back in 98 that would place castles for his friends to sell on EBAY for thousands of dollars? Or the IGM that placed items in player houses so they could sell for tons. Or the EM's that only seemed to give things to guildmates. Or the Seer's that got friends places blessed. All of these were corruption. Do you really want to see this again?

I think the no trade no drop method is one that makes everyone a winner, except the ones trying to make a living off of UO.

mmmm I'am all for giving out items...but hey give out ''normal items'' like plain dresses or lanterns, etc etc...no super duper mods needed on super duper weapons .. just a plain item with event name on it....then the greedy shard hopping players will simply just not bother!!! because they aint gonna sell the items for huge gold ....Thus leaving the bulk of the R'pers and solo players to do there OWN shard event for a nice simple own shard reward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I agree on the no mods part. But shard hopping will still happen to sell unique items for mega gold then sell the gold or shard hop the gold. It just begs for corruption.

That's not a good solution.
If I get a unique decorative item from an EM event, I want to be able to put it on display for the whole shard so that everybody can remember the story behind the item. If I can't drop it, I can't even lock it down in my own house.
And since my house doesn't get much traffic, I want the option to hand it over (possibly for cash - why not?) to a museum owner to put it on display.

And to add to that, I don't want my backpack to become cluttered by useless decorative items after attending a bunch of EM events.

Account bound for equippable items would be fine for me, but it's not a problem anymore since EMs were prohibited from handing out items with significant properties already before this round of event.

I'd rather deal with the occasional corrupt EM than hamper the creativity of the honest EMs. EMs are part-time employees of EA - if they are caught handing out items, they'll certainly lose their job and possibly even risk a visit from EA's legal department...

Really. But who cares anymore, they have already hamstrung the EMS and the program to satisfy a few loud whiners.

What I would like to see is the EMs able to ban/jail/freeze the foul mouthed spellspamming mefirst arrogant arses who stand around ruining the event itself, at the start and at the end. You know, probably the same peeps on UHall moaning about not getting anything...

Why do you care if someone shard hops or sells the item for mega gold. How at all does that affect you except for your not the one making the Mega gold? Their is no corruption for selling an item. Perhaps doom should stop dropping rewards as well. From all your posts all I get from most of the people complaining is they aren't getting these items because they just cant win a competition.

Perhaps you should play a sport and learn the thrill it is to win something and have something to remember it by. Like a sash that says

"I took first in the Race around Yew"

Wow its something to remember I didn't know that was such an ubber item and if some dummy wants to pay 100,000,000 for a sash that says that then let them. It does not affect you!
