Last night I took some videos of blatant exploitation taking place at a Harrower. Within an hour there were about 10 replies, all expressing outrage at what was going on. But then it got removed because of Stratics' rule of not accusing people of anything. I can understand if someone posts text or a screenshot, that is hard to decide upon. But this was a ~6 minute video of just one issue that our guild has to deal with every day.
We have been dealing with this same group of players on and off for three years now. They used to just transfer between shards, but have now settled on Atlantic because it provides the only challenge left for them in the game. While it is fun for them it absolutely is not for us who have to deal with their constant exploitation, scripting and client hacks.
Just last night we spent over 3 hours taking down their scripted spawn cams so we could do a couple spawns without getting crashed. It just wasn't a single person, about 5 total were helping out for varying length of time. Our efforts resulted in 26 cameras being ejected and us being able to spend ~45 minutes doing spawns. Does that sound like lots of fun for us? Spending hours tracking down, killing, ejecting characters run by a script who continues to login at Chaos shrine until the owner finally gets home to shut it off? I could make and post a video of this but that would end up just getting removed also.
Then there is issue I posted a video of. Two nights ago this group of players chained 3 Harrowers back to back using the peacemaking exploit. They were able to devote all but a single one to defense, fielding as many as 25 players. Our guild doesn't have such a luxury. Even though we can field more players, it only reaches to about 35. If we have to devote 10-15 to killing the Harrower. We come up at a disadvantage in more ways then one. You see our guild does not recruit the absolute best PVP players while this other group pulls their members from every western shard and Test Center. So even if we managed to have a slight numbers advantage of 30 to 20, it does not mean anything to them.
I can go on and on about what has happened over the past 3 years. But no one wants to read all that. Let me just touch on another thing that just began happening last week with these people. They claimed to be very excited about the upcoming Factions event and have already joined a guild of 25 in what they said was the "worst" faction base. It turns out it was just part of their plan. Now they have their non-faction murderer guild stand guard at the entrance, allowing them to avoid stat loss. You can't get past without going through them. They posted numerous times, calling me all sorts of names when I said Murderers should not be allowed in guard zones. But then they create an all blue faction guild.
Their style of play has been devastating to the once vibrant PVP community on Atlantic. Just a few months ago they transferred to another shard. Almost instantly things got 1000x better. Within a few weeks there were 3 major guilds of almost equal strength fighting every single night. Plus many upcoming smaller guilds, about a half dozen. But then this unsavory group of players returned with their cheating, scripting and hacking methods. Within a week two of the major guilds I just spoke about merged, another week they broke up and one transferred off Atlantic. The guild who stayed has been completely AWOL from Felucca for nearly a month now. All those upcoming smaller guilds have disappeared or returned to Yew moongate. Only one major guild still puts up the occasional fight which is why they keep coming back to Atlantic.
It is going to take a lot of effort by the developers to bring things back to a point where such a group of players can not ruin the PVP fun for an entire shard. One fix a publish simply isn't going to do it. I reported the Peacemaking exploit over a month ago and it is not slated for fix this publish. However the "Wanding" one is, another favorite for this group of players.
