How does one resign from a faction?

How does one resign from a faction? I thought you just went to the signup stone and clicked on it again but not sure if thats what you do or not.

You go to the stone that is INSIDE the base, double click, and find the option to leave the faction. Recall that it takes 3 days to actually leave.
