[Necromancy] How does Death Adder familiar affect Silver Snake

I read something about Death Adder and Silver Snake phase of Baracoon spawn? I cast Death Adder last night but SSnakes still attacked me.

Please advise what I should be doing...

Doesn't it work like the dark wolf familiar works?

With that one it just enables you to tame the wolf creatures.

Death Adder.

Allows caster to double click snakes and serpents in the area and target what they want them to kill.

atleast that's what its supposed to do
