How do you take the iron beetle outside?

I seem to get stuck at the worm area and he dies. Anyone has any clues?

take him to the fountain, all stay, and invis the beetle. recall out, and log out and in... you now have your beetle

He will show up with me even when freshly tamed? I thought the "log out" method only works with bonded pets.

nope works on any tame pet, just have to be fast, i used it to get my beetle out.
