So I still have to take It down to 0% In the the red? Or just have the cannon prepped to fire? the way people made It sound was you didn't have to completely drop It down to 0% in the red to scuttle.

Usually 28 - 31% depending on what type your attacking. You can test it yourself by trying to board by clicking on the mooring line

If you can't get on then you need to blow it up some more .

Gargoyle ships have more defense then others so it will take another round of shots to immobilize it.

Ok,I'm sorry I think misunderstood the term "scuttle"because I thought It was a reference to specifically the sinking of the ship. I've boarded numerous ships and looted. I thought It was the sinking of the ship,as In the term "scuttle". Thanks for the Info. I guess there Is nothing extra after you killed the crew and looted the ship(hull,npcs,chests,etc.).

Using shot will hit the crew and they will fight back. Using cannon balls will not hurt the crew and you do not need to kill them, Much easier

Another thing that might help you.
Watch how the ship looks as you blow it to smitherines. First shot you won't notice but as the condition goes down it will have tears in the sail and holes and broken up boards. Until it finally looks like a burnt cigar on your radar map.
This stage the battle is more or less over and you can board to loot and kill pirates.

Another easy way to note when you can stop firing. Look at the mast in the center that gives condition % or damage

Green
Yellow
Orange - scuttled
Red - overkill

If it's orange , you can climb aboard.

You can kill the crew right away either as archer/thrower caster or tamer with a magery mastery or necromagey will teleport over

And, once the ship is immobile, if you go more than a couple screens away it will often disappear immediately.

The Flying Cloud was a Yankee ship, five hundred tons or more,
She could outsail any clipper ship hailing out of Baltimore,
With her canvas white as the driven snow and on it there's no specks,
And forty men and fourteen guns she carried below her decks.

We plundered many a gallant ship down on the Spanish Main,
Killed many a man and left his wife and children to remain,
To none we showed no kindness but gave them watery graves ,
For the saying of our captain was: "Dead men tell no tales. "

We ran and fought with many a ship, both frigates and liners too,
Till, at last, a British Man-O-War, The Dunmow, hove in view,
She fired a shot across our bows as we ran before the wind,
And a chainshot cut our mainmast down and we fell far behind.

They beat our crew to quarters as they drew up alongside,
And soon across our quarter-deck there ran a crimson tide,
We fought until they killed our captain and twenty of our men,
Then a bombshell set our ship on fire, we had to surrender then.

It's now to Newgate we have come, bound down with iron chains ,
For the sinking and the plundering of ships on the Spanish Main,
The judge he has condemned us and we are condemned to die.
Young men a warning by me take and shun all piracy.

Farewell to Dublin City. and the girl that I adore,
I'll never kiss your cheek again nor hold your hand no more,
Whiskey and bad company have made a wretch of me,
Young men, a warning by me take and shun all piracy.
