How do you move a parrot?

I am moving characters from one shard to another and would like to take their parrots with them. How do you move the buggers? I've tried clicking everything, single-clicking, double-clicking etc and I can't seem to figure out how to move them.

I think you can take an axe to it when perched, and it will turn into a deed. You might want to ask the Homes & Castles Forum, since it is a decoration.
