How? There's no option for glass shards on the alchemy menu nor on the glassblowing menu.

You're thinking of Shimmering Effusion. I'm talking about the note in the latest patch that glass swords can be turned into glass shards, which also brings up the question of whether or not glass staves can be similarly converted.
I suppose you're trying this on TC, right?

No, I was merely looking for glass shards on any menu so I'd know where to go once everything went live.
Not glass shards, the note says 'crushed glass'
currently crushed glass is obtained from Cavern of the Discarded.
unless they mean 'crystal granules' that are currently made from shimmering crystals.

Sorry, but that's you, not me. I had no problem reading and comprehending the patch notes. I simply was thinking of one thing while typing another when I made this thread.
Decoding patch notes is something you need work on.
Well, I don't have a finished alchemist on Origin. But in poking around on the alchemy menu, I do notice you have the ability to craft a "vial of vitriol" and a "bottle of ichor." Didn't think those were on there before, so I wonder if the other crafting gumps also contain ways to craft other imbuing ingredients.
A vial of vitriol is crafted by an alchemist using a mortar from 1 parasitic poison and 30 nightshade. Requires 90 alchemy skill and 75 magery skill.
A bottle of ichor is also crafted using a mortar from 1 darkglow poison and 30 spider's silk. Requires 90 alchemy skill and 75 magery skill.
Will try to poke around a few other crafting gumps and see what else is on them that's related to imbuing ingredients.
And as far as making crystal granules goes, you still use a mortar and 1 shimmering crystal. Crystal dust still requires 4 broken crystals. And a soulstone fragment is still made using a blow pipe, 2 crystal granules, and 2 void essence.

75 magery ... guess that makes which direction to go with my alchy /cook/fisher/posiner it's only 25 more points might add fencing back anyways
