How do you calculate stamina damage?

I know if you take heavy damage you also take stamina damage, and maces deal a small amount of stamina damage with every hit. Just curious on what the calculation is for determining stamina damage.

I always thought it was whatever percentage of hit points you lost you lost that percentage of your stamina

that might not be right though

I don't think its that high but I can't recall seeing a formula for it either.
