how do u use the 2-d client?

i played before only using the old basic 2-d game but i came back and my new computer didnt have UO installed. i found and old UO-Gold disc so i tried installing that but it wont patch... i went to the UO webpage an installed the stygian abyss game and it works but im used to the other game. how do u get it? do i have to hunt for another "newer" disc?

You want the "Classic Client" not the Enhanced Client.

i got the classic client too but cant see where u click to get it to use the older version of game. new client i cant grab bars, move stuff in my bags , target stuff!! im dying lol

The two clients are completely seperate, different desktop icons etc. It's not like 3D where you selected the client after you launched the patcher. You need to start the game from the 2D icon.

ahh kk, but prob is when i tried to install the uoclassic, it asks if i want to uninstall stygian abyss.... u cant have both?

Just for clarification - Stygian Abyss (SA) is not a client but an expansion (current Release). There are only two clients currently available and supported; The Enhanced Client (EC) and the Classic Client (CC). Either one will give you access to all content you are eligible for. You do have to purchase the SA expansion either for a new account or as an upgrade to your existing account.

thx again finally found the button to the "older" style of UO but it wont connect to the patch server so cant use it lol..

i found my old discs for UO gold, UO 9th anniversary, UO 8th and i think 7th? boy did i spend too much on this game. ill just try the 9th and see if that connects to patch.

Your 9th AE discs should work just fine. Will be quite a bit of patching though.
