[Bushido] How do I train using a pet?

Ok, so Bush is now at 86.9, and I wanted to do some blue pet training as a break from fighting to raise skill. I've seen folks blue pet training, but don't know how to do it. Purchased a cat (based on another post), tried in Brit, Luna and at my home, had cat attack me, but I can't attack it? Can't get my toon to raise a wep against a pet?? I'm not guilded.

I can feel that it's gonna be something I should know, but as a returning vet, the memory is buried to deep. Anyone wanna tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Yeah, I think you answered your own question... "I'm not guilded."

Unguilded in Tram. You should be able to hit the pet but it will do no damage... lightning strike away.

Figured it out, needed to tell the pet to guard me. I knew it was gonna be something simple, just couldn't seem to pull it from my mind.
