How do I stop it?

I have been playing for 9 years and can't figure this out. As you journey around towns, NPC's say things like, "Augh, My tooth hurts" or "Make it stop".

Well, one of my characters now says these sayings all of the time. I can't figure out what started this or how to stop it. I have not been able to get any in game help with this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was caused by eating the Winter (or was it Samhain?) Candies if I recall correctly. Aye, eat an apple is what also came to mind. Something about cavities from the candy and eating an apple a day to keep the doctor/dentist away. *smiles*
