Is it possible to feed chickens now? Do they lay eggs or do anything interesting?

@Strawberry: You have always had to feed chickens when they are pets, to keep them happy, but as far as I know they have not added any interactive content to "wild" chickens like they did with cow milking, for example.

The bizarre thing about feeding pet chickens is that you can't feed them wheat you have picked from the fields, even though it says they eat grains.

:coco:

You have to BUY HAY from NPC farmers.

:grrr:

Hay is obtained from Farmers, try Moonglow or Sakra Bre.
Hmm, I went to the farmers in both Skara and Britain but couldn´t buy anything to feed it with. Will try and look in other cities as well...

There should be farmers selling bales of hay in Britain, Skara, and Moonglow for sure. I buy them for deco purposes there usually. The Britain farmers I have bought hay from are just south of the road out of west Britain, by the edge of the wheat fields there.

Heh, I picked some hay and tried to feed it, didn´t work. Then when I went to the farmers I didn´t bother buying their hay cuz I felt I had already tried that... :p

Went back and bought some of theirs and my chicken is now happy... :)

Thanks everyone!

Dont they eat fruit? Been a while since I had a chicken as a pet... (since the old cock fights we used to have) ... I remember when a full trained chicken would pawn just about every other barn yard animal in one "peck" haha...

Lol, that's what I was thinking of, the cows and also how I wish the nests gave eggs. I was all ready to have my chef descend on Jhelom farms with a rolling pin in one hand and a bale of hay in the other. Ah, the quiches I would have made :)

Years ago, I used to be the proud, longtime owner of Spot the Assassin Chicken.

I seem to recall feeding him corn (as obtained from farmers, or at the shop in Vesper near the dock) and/or various squashes? (and maybe grapes)

I was always afraid to feed him hay. His stomach was so tiny that I feared he'd burst if he tried to consume an entire bale!
