Some can be dyed, some cannot. Leather dye tub is what I used.

I ~think I used the craftable 'natural dye' ... t'was a while back. I'd dyed them white so the only other option available back then would have been the Luna White Tokuno Dye.

I had a pair that wouldn't dye. I just used the Item ID skill on them and got a message they could be dyed. I had zero Item ID skill.
