Sugar ought to come from the sugar cane plants... which ought to produce seeds. Why they don't is beyond me.

sugar does come from those plants, sadly you have to hunt for the seeds.

IRL sugarcane seeds are too hard to gather, so budded stalks are used for cultivation.
But I do like the OP's suggestion. Maybe add all ingredients to the Cornucopia on a percentage chance or RNG for the harder to get stuffs.
